I do think the iWorks suite updates dropping was a bad sign for today (at least the 10am PDT slot).

Here's a thought though (maybe this happened with iOS10) bi-weekly release i.e. release this week, means that beta 3 would be the week of July 4th which seems unlikely due to holiday and vacation time for Apple. Being that we're definitely not at weekly releases, that means we either have a 3 week gap between beta 1 and 2 or between 2 and 3?

Thoughts?
Would fit their public beta in July claim (1 week after DB2, so next week DB2).

But reports also said iOS 16 is a mess and thus PB1 hits with DB3, so this week is possible.

I wouldn’t call it a mess, but it’s definitely not yet ready for even a wider beta audience. Especially with the battery life issues.

Mark Gurman saying beta 2 should be out next week.

That’s nothing but a guess based on how he worded his tweet. He’s guessing when the public beta will be released and based on that guess he then further speculates as to what that means about the preceding release. That’s a bit too attenuated for my liking.

The more I think about this the more it feels like next week is the week. If we got a release this week we'd have to wait 3 weeks until July 11th because it's too soon for a weekly build and the following week is the week of the 4th which is likely not a release week due to holiday and vacations.

With this in mind here's my predictions for the rest of the beta cycle.

Beta 2 - June 27th (or 28th)
Beta 3 - July 11th and public beta July 12th
Beta 4 - July 25th / public 26th
Beta 5 - August 8th / public 9th
After this point we move to weekly releases until we get the RC when the new iPhones are announced in September.

OK. Went back and did some research. Last year, DP1 was released on Monday, June 7th. DP2 was released on June 24th and PB1 was released on June 30th.

Also found this, which validates that Apple will (and frequently does) release betas during the week of July 4th (Independence Day from Pearworld).

You jokester. The betas hit when they're supposed to hit, before or after the holiday.

iOS 14 DB2 -> July 7th
iOS 13 DB3 -> July 2nd and July 8th (re-release)
iOS 12 DB3 -> July 3rd
iOS 11 DB3 -> July 10th
iOS 10 DB2 -> July 5th
iOS 9 DB3 -> July 8th
iOS 8 DB3 -> July 7th
iOS 7 DB3 -> July 8th
And the list goes on, although pre-7 the releases are pretty stretchy at times.

So I will stand by my release prediction with a bias around tomorrow and Thursday.

Going back and re-reading the iOS 15 Speculation Thread is a …. lot like reading this thread. You could cut and paste entire swaths of posts and paste them in here and no one would ever know it was from a year ago.
