The whole cutout is just weird. It is so strange not to see the notch anymore.

The bezel is stupidly thin. Pretty sure people will miss the iconic notch.
I’m seriously gonna miss and would’ve been fine with it till it was gone completely. Guess shortly it will be gone, but in a different way.

I will adjust of course, won’t be a huge deal after a while, but still 🥹

Sorry, Cat 1 has been very busy helping me make important IT solution decisions for my design documentation task today. However…

She was resting on the windowsill, I asked about betas today and she wouldn’t look me in the face. Not sure what that meansView attachment 2039055
Cat knows no beta until next week but feels bad about giving bad news :(

Agree. I feel like if they are going to have something, just keep the notch. It's not like this is going to add to any more info in the status bar, if anything, with this being so large, it would take up even more screen space.

It would be nice if Apple at least offers battery percentage permanently. Due to the fact we will have more room. But, this seems like a wishful thinking now.

I'm also surprised it took Apple this long. The notch itself really became very iconic.

Like you showed before, add it inside the battery icon, or even have a toggle to choose percentage vs icon.
Right! Why is it so hard. Aye, what if we get battery percentage back on Beta 5? Am I asking for too much?

Toggle to choose percentage v/s. an icon would be very nice.

Got off from work and came home. Saw this lost neighborhood cat hanging out in the living room. Caught me off guard. Lost cat, I think this cat knows the beta 5 is coming on Tuesday. That is why the cat made its presence. It's a sign, people! 🐈‍⬛

Yes and it’s tail is 10:00 and the one ear is at 1 minute! We now know the time!!!

Is that Cupertino time though?

How can anyone seriously think the beta will come on tuesday, when it's been a wednesday for all the previous betas??

Quite easily actually: the next beta is likely the inflection point from biweekly to weekly releases, for both the developer and public beta releases. During at least the early part of the weekly release phase, Apple has in the past released the public beta about 48 hours after the developer beta is released and seems to try to avoid releasing betas on Fridays. It stands to reason, therefore, that, if past practice is followed, Apple will release the developer beta on Tuesday, so that it can release the public beta on Thursday. This would allow it to avoid the need to do so on Friday.

All that said, Apple does not always appear to be constrained by past practice. So everything I just typed above should be taken with a large grain of salt.
