Beta 2?

Any speculation on its ETA?

There are if you go to the correct thread

Downgrading from 17.2 back to 17.1 cannot be done from the phone itself - correct? As in, turning beta updates off doesn’t present the option to install 17.1?

Y’know, I think WiFi on iPhones has always had small glitches for me going back as far as I remember. Having to switch into airplane mode and back out to fix WiFi is something I do without even thinking these days. Apple just isn’t the best at stability in this area I think.

I know it has for me. And I've been blaming my internet provider. Connectivity has been bad for years. I thought it was normal for a while.

That’s correct. You need to “restore” back to it using a IPSW file. Instructions can be found in the first post in this thread.

Yeah, there are just a few things Apple will never be super at - WiFi and cloud services.

I know the cloud stuff is a punchline after their early foibles , but I’d say it’s on a par with most of the others at this point.
I'd usually agree, when it works correctly it's really great. The cloud stuff has worked well for me for years and years, I quite liked it.

Since the iPhone 15 Pro Max though I've been having terrible issues trying to get all of my pics and video to upload...been syncing for 5 straight days now and it's still not complete. The sync number on the iPhone (in the Photos app) will only update if I restart the phone too which is a pain.

Not to worry about the issue though, I'll get there. Point is, when there is an issue it's so difficult to fix. Apple have created a 'black box' of sorts. When it works, it's great. When there's an issue though, good luck fixing it. That's my experience at least.

I'm running Google's photo backup too for comparison. It too doesn't communicate overly well with the user regarding tasks it's running. But I feel it's a little faster and currently a little more stable which is good. I'm probably in a niche situation really...quite a large photo library - 335GB

Yeah, there are definitely still some bugs to work out. It may be on a par with the others, but definitely at the lower end.

Before beta 2 launches, I would like to say that 17.2 beta 1 has poor battery life and overheats easily during cellular use. I am concerned about issues related to damaging components through wireless charging (fixed by 17.1.1; I doubt it is part of the 17.2 beta 1 package). If beta 2 takes another week to roll out, I suggest refraining from wireless charging until then.
