This is why I’ll never use this feature. Not sure what Spotify users using their app but my library is carefully curated and I would never allow anything automatically added to it.How do I get the new version of Apple Music to stop adding every song I favourite to my library?
It's making my music library super messy with single songs being added the whole time.
Yeah mac and even iTunes on windows PC can do extremely complex smart playlist. Apple probably wants to push AI-curated list to Apple Music users while keep the iTunes side of playlist untouched, for now.Question:
The favorites playlist is just a smart playlist that Apple makes for you, but that anyone with a Mac can make for themselves, except:
1. Your own smart playlist is much more capable since you can add more rules (e.g. 30 songs + that I have favorited + that are in the classical genre + that I have listened to more than 20 times)
2. The 17.2 playlist would be useful for anyone who doesn't have access to a Mac since smart playlists can't be created on iOS.
Am I correct? Or is the 17.2 favorites list something very different?

It's really silly, and unnecessary, that you need a firmware update to add features to the Music App. Spotify doesn't require an OS update to add features.
There is a Focus Filter for the Apple Music Listening History feature, so if you want to let someone else use your device to listen to music, you can activate this to turn off the Listening History so their song choices won't affect your recommendations.
Well, they don't have an OS to update, so there's that.Spotify doesn't require an OS update to add features.

It likely doesn’t, but Apple batches updates together for most of their apps. Why does the Music app need an OS update to get new features?
It's because spatial recording needs the Main and UltraWide cameras to be side-by-side. On earlier cameras, those cameras were diagonally arranged, which would mean that you'd have to hold the iPhone diagonally if Apple were to support spatial recording on those. That's no bueno, and so it needs the side-by-side cameras on the iPhone 15 series. Why is Spatial recording only limited to the iPhone 15?
The most likely reason is because the Apple Apps are fully integrated into the OS and therefore the OS has to be updated too. It's really silly, and unnecessary, that you need a firmware update to add features to the Music App. Spotify doesn't require an OS update to add features.
It sounds like it’ll need a more useful Notes, right?Journal seems like an odd app to get so much attention. I betcha it's a baby step towards generative AI. That would be creepy. 😮🤣
