Apple fixed the issues with connecting Apple TVs to the hotel WiFi in tvOS 15:

An alternative approach would be to bring along a travel router or even a MiFi if only using AirPlay and not streaming (if low cellular data limit)
Aha! I actually haven't traveled much in the past year or two (at least where I needed to use an hotel), so I'd COMPLETELY forgotten about this!

Guess I'll have to try it next time I'm in a hotel ;)

Glad to hear that this is finally available. A long time since it was announced.

Personally, I'd have preferred they added a feature to the Apple TV to allow it properly to connect to hotel wireless, like any other device - that would be almost universally effective, as opposed to this band-aid which will likely only work in a few hotels nationwide, at least in the short term.
Why do you think it can't connect to WiFi in the hotel? It is the TV you can't connect to. Just like on some cruise ships.
It depends on the TV's protocols

Can someone please help me to understand why this is a noteworthy feature? My very simple, way cheaper and fusfree android(bought in 2013) phone can already mirror my phone display to any latest smart TV. So, is it that my iphone can do the same now almost a decade later?

And what's this about Hotel TV ( and special manufacturer etc.)? Isn't this possible for any normal Smart TV?

I guess I am missing something to understand.

I don’t understand how this is news. The hotels I’ve been staying at have had both casting and airplay TV options for past 4-5 years.

I'm a hotel manager ready to replace our tvs, are there any that are currently available for purchase with these features or will I have to wait till later in the year?

Just read the second last paragraph of the article, there’s even a link for more info,
“ . . LG previously announced that it would be one of the first hotel room TV manufacturers to support the feature.”
