Not seeing it on A13 as well. Switched language to English but still nothing.
Does anyone knows hw requirements?
Or is it available only in USA?
I guess it's only in the US. I'm overseas, in Barcelona, Spain. And still nothing. This is unacceptable. We're in 2023, and still, the internet and all its services are under regions.

I tried to set language to English and region to USA but no luck. Not sure they check IP or what. We can report it as bug :)

I don’t know what happened but my voice got deleted and is no longer available. I didn’t do anything with it but when I went to go demo it I found that it was gone and the option to create a personal voice was back.

I’m using iPhone 14 in Australia. I think the generated voice sounds a little robot like but my missus & Dad think it sounds largely like me! So I type what I want to say to the wife when she’s out of the room then just play it when she comes back! 😂

I read there may be a bug that if you're at 100% charged it doesn’t start processing when plugged in. I drained down a little then plugged in & it started, took @24 hours. It reminds you every time you have unplugged that it has stopped processing & you can check progress in Accessibility - Personal Voice.

Once created you can also export your voice.

The only use I can find for it at this stage is turning on Accessibility- Live Speech which allows you to press side button 3 times to bring up a box to type in & you can also save your regular Phrases. No ability to set it as a Siri voice as yet! I also cannot get it to play aloud during a normal phone call or WhatsApp call, not tried FaceTime yet. Be interested to hear any other uses at present, but I think this is a great feature with a variety of uses in the future.

Mine got to 33% then reset. It’s at 17% now. Been a few hours. It keeps notifying me to charge it and turn the screen off even though it’s charging and the screen is off. So… it’s trying lol.
Mine's about the same too. I wonder if I need to turn off the AOD...

Have you succeeded? Can you use voice for Text to speech anywhere?
yep it eventually worked! I turned on Live Speech or whatever it's called and I can type into there lol. It's a liitttlleee robotic but it definitely sounds like me!

iPhone 12 Pro Max

I've had to record three full 15 minute sessions and still no voice. At least I've got most of the lines memorized by now …

Day One: After recording the first full session and waiting some time, I exported a 100 MB zip file of the recordings to my laptop that supposedly can be imported later. Then accidentally deleted the original—and found that there's no Import function.

Checked with Apple Support and they said that the Beta has limited functionality and “Import isn't one of those functions” … so the Export function is useless. The reason I was messing around with the settings to begin with is it had been 12 hours and I was still stuck at 0%.

Recorded another full fifteen minute session after the chat with Apple Support.

Day Two: Still stuck at zero percent. I read there was a glitch if the battery is at 100% the processing won't start, so let it drain for a while and plugged it back in. Still no movement. A few hours later went to turn off Cloud Sharing with other devices, thinking that might be why it's held up at zero percent.

Oops. Another glitch. Turn off Cloud Sharing and no more than five seconds later the entire Personal Voice disappeared right in front of my eyes just as if it had been deleted, which forced me to start all over again.

Then I noted another glitch: If I start and then pause recording on the examples, time remaining goes from 15 minutes to 10 minutes remaining to 1 minute remaining—all with nothing recorded yet. The Export function that was previously a 108 MB ZIP file is now 240 bytes, which verifies it's an empty file, so definitely shouldn't work that way.

I went ahead and recorded the one minute, and after only a few phrases it says I'm finished. But the Export file is only 10 MB. Turned off Cloud Sharing and it deleted the voice again. Well, that confirms that glitch. Fortunately I only lost one minute of recording.

Day Three: I've now recorded a third full fifteen minute session and … you guessed it, still stuck at 0%. Cloud Sharing was already turned off before I started this time—and the battery wasn't full, so we'll see if it starts to work this time or not.

Currently Generating at 0% and counting …

EDIT 1: +4 hours later, Notification: “Preparation of your Personal Voice couldn't complete.” Opened it up and it still shows as Generating…0% 😕

EDIT 2: +6 days later, in the interim I've downloaded iOS 17 Beta 2 hoping it might include a workaround or fix. However, the Personal Voice screen still shows the finished recording has yet to begin generating and still reads as Preparing…0%.

Apple Support said they aren't able to troubleshoot the feature as it's a limited-functionality beta trial and they don't want to break anything worse than it already is … they then suggested that I revert to iOS 16. 😓🫤🫠

My personal voice shows up as complete within Personal Voices across my Mac and iPhone, but does not show up as an option for Live Speech. Beta glitch, do I need to wait a bit longer?

Edit: Well, look at that. Impatience is a virtue, right? It just showed up.

I am not sure. I am torn on this. On one hand, it would be nice to have someone's voice in the event they pass. On the flip side, how long before we have cases where people use someone else's voice to say things they never said like admitting to committing a crime they did not commit or scamming parents to send kids money when it wasnt their kid's request.

I’ve already heard about a case of using this type of technology to get parents to send money with a computer generated copy of their son’s voice.

I think it would be wonderful. My ex passed away many years ago and I’d give anything to hear his voice again.

There were many people who kept their dead spouse’s phone numbers after 9/11 just so they could dial it and hear the recording of their souses telling them to leave a message.

My Personal Voice literally sounds like Kermit the Frog over an AM radio…
