iOS 17 will include new features and changes across the Lock Screen, Apple Music, App Library, and Control Center, according to a Weibo post this week from the same account that revealed Apple would be launching the iPhone 14 in Yellow.

The post lists several potential iOS 17 features:
  • Lock Screen font size options
  • A button to share custom Lock Screen designs with other iPhone users
  • Apple Music lyrics can be viewed on the Lock Screen
  • Apple Music design changes with simplified interface
  • App Library folders can be manually renamed
  • Control Center design changes
  • Flashlight brightness slider can be freely adjusted, like the volume slider
It was already rumored that iOS 17 would revamp Control Center, but the rest of the information shared by the account is new. None of the changes would be groundbreaking, but they would still be meaningful improvements. Overall, rumors have suggested iOS 17 will be a modest update focused on stability and performance enhancements.

While the source of this rumor accurately leaked the iPhone 14 would launch in Yellow a few months in advance, they do not have a long-term track record with Apple rumors, so there is no guarantee that this information will prove to be correct.

On last week's episode of The MacRumors Show podcast, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman revealed what he expects from iOS 17, including improvements to the Find My and Wallet apps. The well-known Apple reporter said the update is unlikely to include "major new features," like the customizable Lock Screen introduced with iOS 16.

Apple is expected to announce iOS 17 during its WWDC keynote on June 5. The first beta version of the update should be made available to developers moments after the keynote, while a public beta will likely be available in July. As usual, the update should be widely released in September, around the time that new iPhones launch.

New new lock screen 😍 can’t wait until iPad gets it next year!

Lock screen font size options sound hella sick though, perfect for a mini-sized device or to take up more real estate on a Plus/Pro Max :)

Excited for Apple Music changes. Can we please finally get the relevant architecture updates to music playback to finally bring Crossfade to iOS?

Android has had Smart Crossfade on Apple Music for some time so it's about time Apple devices got it too.

Sounds like nothing my iPhone 12 Pro Max wouldn't get so either I keep it yet another year or I will try one of those Fold phones just to play with something new. I don't mean this against Apple at all, the iPhone is simply at a "good as it is" kind of state

Split screen and interactive widgets please... I think that's all I need.

Knowing Apple they will release one of these 2 features, but make it iphone 15 exclusive even though older iPhones are more than capable of handling it.

Maybe the music player finally will be able to do.....album shuffle?

I mean, I know that's really really difficult technology for Apple to implement, but....I have faith they have the trillion dollar resources to do it.

Is this iPadOS or iPhoneOS? Or did finally they go back to calling them both iOS, which would make too much sense?

The best way to experience the new iOS is with a new iPhone. If you stay away from the betas and updating your old iPhone, you'll enjoy a beautiful experience.

New lock screen font sizes? This is the kind of cutting edge innovation I've longed for in modern smartphones.

100+ MP cameras? 8K video recording? Siri overtaking ChatGPT through Apple's investment in AI technology? All unimportant things. Between new fonts, and being able to share your lock-screen designs with others AND App Library folders now allowing you to manually rename them, iOS 17 will surely establish Apple's continued dominance in smartphones for the next decade. :apple:

Since the inception of the App Library, I've wanted one thing: The ability to hide the app library. I want to be able to hide an app in the app library and then hide the app library.

Please make this happen in the next iOS.

What makes App Library so magical is the way it manages itself. Stripping away unnecessary complexity is the Apple way.
