I wonder what features Apple has in store for iPadOS 17... they didn't get any lockscreen changes that iOS 16 received, so I'm skeptical that it will get any new lockscreen features in iOS 17.

I wish they'd introduce collaborative playlists like all the others support. Naively assumed such a basic feature would be supported by Apple Music but nope :(

iPadOS 14 also did not get any of the Home Screen widgets and App Library changes, that came a year later.

Simplified music app? Already can’t do enough. I needed to add more functionally and complexity to do the things I want. Simplifying it will just make it harder to play my music.

how about they bring back live wallpapers, i miss the one from my 13 Pro (yes i know i can download it, but i liked it being live and changing with dark mode)

  • Flashlight brightness slider can be freely adjusted, like the volume slider

I find that sort of odd. Do people actually need such precise control of the brightness that the 4 preset levels aren't sufficient? Not that it matters to me either way, but it just sort of seems like an odd thing to think needs changing.

It should be noted that Apple will be even more quiet and the usual spinsters/analysts will be trying to one up each other to being right so don't believe the lack of information on any Apple OS is minor before WWDC. Only Apple can tell the truth. ;)

New lock screen font sizes? This is the kind of cutting edge innovation I've longed for in modern smartphones.

100+ MP cameras? 8K video recording? Siri overtaking ChatGPT through Apple's investment in AI technology? All unimportant things. Between new fonts, and being able to share your lock-screen designs with others AND App Library folders now allowing you to manually rename them, iOS 17 will surely establish Apple's continued dominance in smartphones for the next decade. :apple:

Speaking of 8K, I wonder if the 15 Pro will get it. Not that I or 99 percent of users will really make use of it once we get an iPhone that has it.

Finally! Being able to customize the App Library could actually make me use it!

Now if you could make the widgets “active” and being able to interact with them without triggering the whole app…

It really does seem like these updates get worse every year, who needs Lock Screen font changes and share lock screens lol can’t we get some serious changes that make the phone exciting

Yeah, I‘m aware… just pointing out the lack of information or attention from iPadOS 17. However, I completely understand which product gets the most interest.

Excited for Apple Music changes. Can we please finally get the relevant architecture updates to music playback to finally bring Crossfade to iOS?

Android has had Smart Crossfade on Apple Music for some time so it's about time Apple devices got it too.

I really do like Apple Music, but there are SO many things I’d change with it if I was in charge.

  • Crossfade
  • Equivalent feature as Spotify Connect
  • Have the “add to library” button right on the now playing screen. Why is this highly used basic action hidden in a menu?
  • Change queue to make it work how Spotify’s does. I’ve been using Apple Music for years at this point and still get baffled and have to do a lot of reordering with their queueing system.
  • Unified/universal search that’s more forgiving of typos
  • Speed and reliability improvements - Apple Music has been noticeably slower compared to Spotify for me for years. What happened to the legendary hardware and software integration leading to increased performance and efficiency? Why is Apple Music so slow, especially on the Mac?
  • Radio episodes - remember where you last left off (like a podcast) instead of restarting from beginning
  • Playback speed + reverb settings within now playing screen with options to save alternate versions of that song - Imagine how much friendlier it’d be for the user and how much more money artists could make if they actually got paid for those “slowed and reverb” or “sped up” remixes instead of having to listen to fanmade versions on YouTube.
  • Library management on iPhone and iPad - add local files to iCloud library, edit metadata, edit cover art
  • Smart playlists on iPhone and iPad

Arnold from Magic school bus voice Please still let this be a Snow Leopard total bug squash and performance/efficiency release.

If they got in other features after doing that, great. I'm so tired of bugs and jank that I'd give up all new features to totally fix that though.

I've had an annoying bug recently where the most recent notification that I'm going into notification center for disappears until I jiggle scroll a bit up and down and then it comes back.

That and a thousand other papercuts are why I really want that Snow Leopard bug fix/efficiency release.

What a mess iOS has become. You can't even easily change the background picture anymore. Focus has become a total mess that makes no sense (to change the schedule of the Sleep focus, you have to go into the Clock app (WTF), but to change the schedule for Do Not Disturb (which is almost the same thing), you have to go into Settings). And let's not get started on Music that has the "up next" view, the "now playing" view and the library view, and you never know why you're in one view vs. the other or which one you're even in unless you remember that one of them has a dark grey background for some reason. iOS should really just go back 4-5 years for some of the apps and features that no one asked for.

Oh and why do some notifications just disappear when I unlock the phone and lock it again? I didn't even see what it was and now it's gone. And stop randomly asking me if I want to "Keep time sensitive notifications on". At this point I really just have no idea why my phone is doing things.

Dammit Apple, that was the one place in iOS I could daydream I'd completed transporter operator training at Starfleet Academy!

If there's one thing I miss about Android, it's notifications. Why did Apple mess up theres. It makes no sense.
