I think that if apple tries something so sneaky they’ll incur in even more scrutiny. This is a battle they can’t win, they should just give up and focus on important things, rather than anti-consumer policies.
You mean PRO-consumer policies like not allowing side-loading? People disagree on this and the vast majority of people not on an apple website like it just the way it is right now. So the majority believe apple is making the correct decision so based on that side-loading is ant-consumer.

As someone situated in Europe, I hope that Apple recognise that some users do not want the ‘sideload’ functionality despite it being legislated for, and give such users a way to keep iOS/iPadOS as secure as the counterpart versions offered across the rest of the planet.

Even if disabled by default, I’m concerned that the presence of the ability alone to activate ‘sideloading’ capabilities could represent a vulnerability.
I’m sure Apple will explain what they did to prevent or at least try to prevent nefarious software from using the feature to gain access to user’s iPhones if they use the feature or not.

FindMy rules. I keep losing AirPods because they blend in with so many household objects like carpet, sheets, etc. Gotta say they're doing a great job of keeping me enslaved to the "Apple EcoSystem" for better or worse. I certainly don't envy Android users.

Please, Apple, focus on what is your product - operating system and hardware.

People want system that is stable, secure, easy to maintain and open for apps.

We don’t want lock-in, trendy features or new apps. Make sure that essential components are rock solid, impenetrable and apps created 10 years ago still work so we don’t need to pay for updates. Make creation of new apps easy so it makes space for creativity and innovation.

We already pay ******** of money for this ecosystem, we don’t need another half-assed reminders or drawing app. If you want to create apps put them paid on the App Store and check if anybody needs them.

Oh, and make Safari on par with Chrome or add new APIs so 3rd party browsers can do everything that Safari can.

There is one piece of wallet integration I really would like, showing the transactions in there consistently across all devices regardless of wether or not I use Apple pay. Similar to Apple Card and Amex cards.

Sideloading, a Europe only feature, would be outrageous.
Make sense. Good test without giving up keys to the store.

By Europe I hope he meant the continent and not EU-only.

EU only makes sense since it’s their regulation.
I will be very surprised if Europe would allow apple to steal a set percentage of developers income even if they don’t publish on the apple App Store.

Steal? It’s Apple’s IP and they can license it however they want. Even EPIC, the brave fighter for the little developer, has licenses that take a cut of revenue.

Apple could even start charging for downloads for free apps with IAP using third party payers.

Apple has hundreds of not thousands of software devs. The fact they can’t “refine” **** good enough by X.5 is astounding.

I am not a fan of the way Apple waits to update ** APPS ** with major iOS iterations.

It’s because most consumer software works that way. Consumers want big-bang features.

Whereas corporate software will be on version 1.X for years before 2.0 is released.

One enterprise I worked we were version 2.471.xxxx. We would release updates about every 2 weeks.

One of the changes even involved requiring a newer version of MS SQL.
