Is there still no multi-punctuation key? You can't hold the period key to bring up question marks or exclamation points? Why is this basic feature still missing?

This and a clipboard history ! I’m not really sure how important that might be for other people, but I used it a lot on my old Android device. It’s sad to me that iOS keyboard doesn’t have one.

Does QuickPath typing still autocorrect “just” to “Justin” every time? That would be a welcome fix.

I often discuss two medicines: levothyroxine and liothyronine.

The first is in the standard dictionary. The second I added.

If I type them correctly, no problem. But almost any mistake I make in typing liothyronine sees it replaced by levothyroxine.

IOS and macOS. And very annoying.

Is this going to fix it?

You might want to consider using the text replacement feature -
Here’s a good guide on how to set it up here on MR:

Then you can just have something easy like ‘lithhh’ (or whatever you like) auto-replace to the full word as you type.

I would have just added text replacements for both.

Like "lioo" would auto change to liothyronine and "levv" to levothyroxine.

Cool! More stuff I don't care about or use. Well done Apple.
Autocorrect? Huh. Bloody perfect typer, hey? Impressive. But for those folks, meaning everybody else, who aren’t so adroit on the keys, we welcome such advancements!

Typing in two languages is a real pain as it stands now and the new system to change back to the word you typed really should have been implemented years ago.

I don’t like the smaller space bar. Or the smaller keys around it. The last thing we need is smaller buttons to push. And no point in having those options on a period key when all those options are available on the same screen. That’s your ultimate point though I imagine, not having that key on the main keyboard.

BUT, they could push that emoji button below the keyboard and put next to the world button and add a punctuation key there instead. People who use emoji still have easy access.

I don’t usually say this, but welcome to Android like nine years ago. About damn time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful. But it’s not like this technology didn’t exist. They ignored the problem for so long.

Years of fighting autocorrect have made me bitter. I turned it off at least a year ago but the suggestions it makes, which it would “correct” automatically if I left it on, are just insane. It actually suggests things that grammatically do not exist in English, like “say’s”. That is the first time I ever intentionally typed that but it suggests it constantly even though it is never, ever correct. Just one recent example out of dozens.

Really glad to see the underlining because before I turned it off it would go back in to my correctly typed sentence and change things to be incorrect that I only noticed after hitting send.

I don’t understand the difference between that and tapping the 123 button and sliding to the punctionation you want. Once you let go it reverts back to the QWERTY keyboard.

Does it support multi language? I remember long ago the keyboard should automatically switch languages. But it never does.

As a result, when you’re typing in the wrong language, iOS happily adds these new words to the wrong dictionary. And the next time you type in the other language, it corrects them to the wrong one.

Incredibly frustrating.

I read this is iPhone 12 and higher? Really? The iPhone 11 is not powerful enough to do autocorrect 2.0? Common.
Then get a newer iPhone? The 15 is right around the corner. Why do you need an iPhone that's four generations old when you get $350-$700 off an $800 phone with trade in? Honestly, I work at a cell phone store and can't stand customers like you - no offense but people shouldn't feel sorry for those who don't upgrade every 2-3 years .
