I’m going to assume that ChatGPT will be coming in iOS 18.2 or 18.3, that’s when Siri will start to improve, it will be probably significantly better next Spring when iOS 18.4 launches

More powerful siri will be using Apple Intelligence, not ChatGPT. It will only ask if you want to use ChatGPT when it’s something it knows it cannot do.

And never mind. It’s all good now after a few restarts as someone else mentioned. I believe over time it’ll be applying the AI over the system and things will slowly start to work better.

AI re-write is working on my 15pm. I am going to test it on the Mac also.

It works nice in Pages. Also, I tried to "Rewrite" a 3500 word legal document...took some time, but it worked!

AI is larger than 2.86gb, right? It seems stuck on that for me, and the writing tools aren't working.

It seems like it downloaded a significant chunk when I was plugged into a charger.

If you enable the iOS 18 Developer Beta channel and refresh, do you see only the iOS 18 Beta 4 update or do you also see the iOS 18.1 Beta at the bottom of the screen under "ALSO AVAILABLE"?

They are the same as B4 from a week ago.

People claim that 18.1B1 has fixed a few of their woes, I would‘ve liked to see proper release notes and not link the obvious known ones from last week again in their release notes.

Could be right. That’s a long time for betas. Godspeed to everyone beta testing 18.1 until October if that is the case.

Seems nuts to me that when the 16s release they will have to but into the beta to get AI.

Can't wait to see how Apple spins that one at their event. We have this awesome new phone that we think you will love, but the main selling point you are going to have to wait another month or so.

I asked iOS 18.0 Siri if I should upgrade to iOS 18.1 and she didn't know.

If you update to 18.1, Siri will be far more intelligent and will say yes.

Have you or anyone figured out how to tell Siri that yes, this "maybe important" notification is indeed important? Seems like notifications breaking through is inconsistent so far.

Siri does seem to be smarter. I asked her what a specific person said about a gig in messages, and she read out a few messages from that person 2 weeks ago, relating to a gig. Same query on iOS 17 doesn’t yield same results.
