😂

Yeah, okay. You guys are funny.

So. Many. Bugs.

(And to the pedantic fanboy: Yeah, I get they used the adjective critical. I am pointing out that this year's OS releases (across the board) are adding useless, half-baked "features" instead of actually fixing long-time bugs, newly-introduced bugs, or incorporating features that would legitimately be useful.)
Not knowing how something works does not qualify as a bug. Not making any effort to troubleshoot does not mean something is a bug. Something you don’t understand but no else is reporting is also not a bug.

This response heavily implies the poster is experiencing phantom bugs which is patronizing at best. iOS (and macOS) are severely tech debt ridden.

… The last several days, iOS 18.2 on IP15PM is prompting for location access (repeatedly) for various apple and non apple apps …

18.2 has actually been pretty buggy for me, which is weird because I usually see hardly any bugs or issues even when I run betas.
Hopefully this releases sooner than later, I've been debating on going to 18.3 in the hopes it works better for me than 18.2 has.

On an iPhone 16 Pro... Anyone else having issues that Find My indefinitely feature seems to automatically Switch off on its own randomly? I don't understand it, saw many forums talk about this but I still don't understand what causes it.

Am I nuts or is iOS better at dictation / transcription since installing the iOS 18.3 beta? That’s one of the things I was kind of disappointed in the couple of times I tried it while beta testing iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2. Siri was better if I botched a sentence but I still felt like iOS / Siri it wasn’t as good when I was dictating a text message, etc. as it has been since I installed the iOS 18.3 beta.

I kept wondering what’s new in iOS 18.3 beta after installing it and maybe that’s where some or all of it is. Under the hood tweaks to refine some of what’s new in iOS 18.1 / 18.2 versus outright new features.

I saw it pointed it by somebody in a YouTube video and have been using dictation more since it was pointed out and to me it’s a lot better. I’d basically stopped even trying to dictate text messages because of how it would botch what I was saying prior to the iOS 18. betas so I’d be lying if I said I spent a lot of time prior to the 18.3 beta trying to dictate texts so maybe those improvements have been there but I did try a couple of times previously in the iOS 18.x betas and it didn’t seem anywhere near as good as it does post installing the iOS 18.3 beta.

Following our report that Apple is internally testing iOS 18.2.1 for the iPhone, an anonymous social media account with a proven track record of sharing iOS-related information has revealed the upcoming software update's build number: 22C161.

With the build number now known, the update is now confirmed.

When the anonymous account shares a build number for an upcoming iOS version, the update is usually released no more than a week later. However, given it is currently the holiday season, it could take longer for the update to be released. We continue to respect the account's request that we not link to their social media posts.

iOS 18.2.1 should be a minor update that fixes bugs and/or addresses security vulnerabilities, but it is unclear which specific issues might be resolved. There are not any critical, widespread bugs that we know about at this particular time, but Apple has obviously identified various bugs and/or security vulnerabilities that it wants to patch ahead of iOS 18.3.

Apple began testing iOS 18.3 with developers and public beta testers earlier this month. That update is likely to be released to all users in January or early February, and only minor changes have been discovered in it so far.

Hopefully this includes iPadOS too. Perhaps they’ll rollout the Apple Intelligence features like Mail that got left off but put into regular iOS. The code is practically identical. Astonishing. They must really be short staffed and working flat out.

I'm having problems with mail in 18.2. I have iCloud mail privacy (and private relay) disabled, and both are blocked on my home network, but Mail continues trying to use it and eventually times out since it can't connect to mask.icloud.com or mask-h2.icloud.com. Read about the issue on Apple's forums. Works fine on 18.1.1.

Gave up and went back to the Gmail app until they fix it.

Ah yes, IOS has been bug free for the longest time. Man the lengths that people will go to simp for a trillion dollar company is wild...

One bug for Apple to sort - you can’t turn off the sticker section of the emoji keyboard after deselecting it. Used to work but doesn’t in 18.2.

The word bug does not exist in Apple terminology. Everything is a security update now.
