well, the screenshot shows a Toyota app, so what did you expect? In our testing, CarPlay still showed two rows of four icons in a Honda Civic with a 9-inch screen.

This CarPlay improvement isn't worth risking a bricked device.
It's apparently so bad that Apple has pulled the crippled beta from various devices.
Are you kidding me? I have pages of them. This is such a good thing. That's cool, but I can't find enough useful CarPlay apps to fill up one screen.
In my Lexus/Toyota it makes the screen smaller by a little so the car toolbar will always be visible even if CarPlay is up. (see example)What do the arrows in the upper left corner do?
if there was one from apple get ready to pay $1500 or more for itWhy isn't there a scaled version of CarPlay that can run on the iPhone display itself?
My 2022 Sienna has a steering wheel button that toggles between audio inputs while CarPlay is on screen, so my maps stay up when I change inputs. There is a second steering wheel button so I can change radio stations while Car Play/maps is on screen.I just wish I could somehow toggle within CarPlay between listening to SiriusXM, listening to the FM radio, and listening to my music or podcasts. If I want to go to SiriusXM or to the FM radio, I have to exit CarPlay completely including the Maps function.
Home app as well, or at least a few scenes.Find My should be on Car Play. How it isn’t is baffling.
That’s awesome
My dad has CarPlay in his Lexus and I use CarPlay when we go on long drives so I’m glad that Apple has made it better by offering an extra row of application icons on the display
I hope that more cars implement wireless CarPlay in the future as my dad’s car does not have wireless CarPlay so I have to use an adapter to get it to be wireless - it would be nice if Apple made their own adapter to allow people to use wireless CarPlay (if it’s not already built into their cars)

I have both available to me in my BYD Atto3.Bluetooth latency is still a problem for me on wireless. It seems now wired carplay is actually a higher end feature. Ideally a car would have both as each has its advantages and disadvantages. And it it's easier to go from wired to wireless than the other way around.
Try driving a BYD where you have to exit CarPlay to adjust the aircon! All I want is for the screen to show CarPlay and also display the outside temperature as derived from the vehicle. I think it's stupid to have to exit CarPlay to see what the temperature is outside.
Dude the whole reason of operation for findmy doesn’t revolve soley around your use case. Jeez…. Plenty of people use it to find other people and the ability to immediately start directions to that person is very useful indeed, its not all about finding your lost airpods. Christ almighty..Why would you need that? Your phone is literally right there in the car with you, and if you need to track down your AirPods or whatever, you can easily pick it up when you're stopped and do just that. There are already waaayyy too many people pulling boneheaded distracted driving crap without Apple putting toys on the big shiny screen on the dashboard.

When you’re driving, having large spaced out icons on a display become more important than you think. So much wasted space on the current carplay layout with the large icons and huge gaps between the icons...
