I'm not going to complain about fixing a bunch of security issues. Software as old and complex as this is going to be full of potential issues. I'm just trying to think too hard about how many are still there that no one yet knows about.

And about how now I'm gonna get pwnz0red via my Watch because they pulled its update.

Well shoot, my phone is freezing and over heating after the update.
My 16 pro got warm for awhile I always do a complete reinstall of the firmware via my Mac which I update first. I’m not sure if there’s a real difference but I prefer to do a complete update and then do the full update to my Mac mini M2 Pro later in the week. I’ll reinstall the Mac in safe mode. I did Not to update in the new mini there’s no need, it’s not even two years old so no need to replace it even though I am keeping an eye on the M4 max studio I’m thinking about updating before any price increase in the UK may occur due to everything that’s occurring at the moment. My M2 Pro does what it needs I’ve noticed some slowdowns but nothing too serious so if I do update I’ll probably go for the studio M4 max because it’s got all the ports I need and I detest dongles. I’ve got that still gear we’re that works perfectly that uses USB A which I’m not gonna replace just the sake of it, like smart UPS’s et cetera that still use proprietary connections at one end and USB A at the other.

120+ security fixes for macOS 15.4 is crazy - probably weren’t that much when 15.0 came out

Photos also still has a bug on iPads, at least, and I've submitted a bug report.

When you go to the Maps view in Photos, the Index button that has been there is gone! You cannot browse all your photos from any one area. I have to use my iPhone which is not on the beta to be able to see what photos are in particular locations.

After updating, a game called Tarisland started to download automatically. I most certainly did not have it in my phone previously.

These security fixes aren’t just a macOS 15.4 thing. Sonoma and Ventura received a lot of the same security updates as well.

I'm not sure I'm following. In Map view, the photos show up on the map, and then can tap a photo to see all photos in that location. It works the same on my iPad and iPhone.

Updated my 12 mini and the microphone is active light is on. Never been on before update and I turned off all apps that had limited access and it did’t go away. And yes I rebooted.

The update is not available on my MacBook Air M3 just yet. This makes me angsty!

Hope I can UPDATE tomorrow

Good night lads. Lots of love!

Does anyone else find that the macOS software update tool... kind of sucks? I go to the Software Update panel and it doesn't offer 15.4 to me - instead it offers 15.3.2. So I have to wait 30-60 minutes for that to download and install (WHY!? Stupid bloated OS - Apple needs to move everything from the Application folder out of the OS and into the App Store.) And I don't doubt the moment this update is done I'll check again and have 15.4 offered... where it'll take another 30-60 minutes to download and install that.

Or... maybe it won't. Maybe I'll have to restart the computer 1-5 times until it'll discover that 15.4 is available. As bafflingly bad as a lot of this update process is, the fact that available updates often don't show up is the most miserable part of the whole thing.

(I don't have the issue of updates not appearing on iOS... that's a unique "feature" of macOS.)

Maybe, Apple could use AI to determine how to fix as much code as possible before pushing problems out into the real world. AI must be usable for something.
