When you have issues as you describe, do you Erase All Content and Settings, and start over as new?
No, why should i have to, the device was brand new.
Also the issues solved themselves after many, many, many updates.
This proves - at least for me - the problem was the software itself.
I'm fed up jumping thru hoops, just to realize, it doesn't help at all.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m sick to death of being told by Apple to reset this, or reset that, or wipe that or wipe this. Their software is awful, and is, indisputably in my opinion, getting worse.

Since I’ve upgraded from 18.4 to 18.5, I can no longer switch between 3G and LTE. (I’m using an iPhone SE 2020, on the Rogers network in Canada.)

Before the upgrade, the toggle for switching between these bands was found under “Cellular data options”. Now, it just ain’t there. I was connected to 3G (my preferred setting, to save battery life) when I first noticed this, and so I tried rebooting to see if that would restore the toggle. After rebooting, I was connected to LTE instead, and the toggle was still missing.

Has anyone else had this issue? I guess it’s not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have the option to switch to 3G to save battery sometimes.

I know we have a battery thread but I still would like to ask if people are seeing a performance issue around battery drain? I didn't see much in the battery thread. My wife has a iPhone 16 and I have a iPhone 16 Pro. Both seem to be draining faster then normal with less usage. I am not one to normally complain about battery life, but this seems unusual. I don't remember having this with any of the betas either. My iPhone 16 Pro is 199 cycles and 100% Battery Life.

None — it’s been great.

I have a bug it’s so annoying,
My saved medications keep disappearing
So the notification comes up I click it and it opens in the app with a blank page or a page asking me setup medication reminders even thou it’s all there !
Then I have to randomly keep checking the app to see if it’s loading it and then I can log it , longest it’s been is 2-3 days then I can input my information .
This is beyond frustrating as I need these reminders to track my meds as I have autism and cannot remember when I take meds with out the app prompting me to.
This is also happening to step counts it will just not show steps from the day and will just randomly appear one day .
Any suggestions?

first thought was that this might be related to the capabilities (or lack thereof) of you carrier: here in Belgium, 3G support was ended, depending on the carrier, between Feb 24 and Jan 25...
Turns out that for Rogers in Canada, that shouldn't be the reason at this moment, they'll pull trigger end of July (2025)

Whenever you/someone finds a way to get the option back, it's not gonna last long :-(

All 3 pro max in my house is experiencing this. Mine was bad for a few days. Then got better but now it’s just mediocre at best. Husbands is really bad as of late. So definitely iOS related!

I had that, and when a hard reset (or 3) did not resolve it, I went with a complete reset and used my iCloud backup to reinstall. The longest part of the setup was reloading all of the apps, texts, and photos, but my phone was usable within an hour. All has been running crisp since (that was back on 18.3)

That’s a lot of work so I’ll just wait for the update. Mine isn’t unbearable

This change is related to the retirement of 3G by Rogers and others, and is intentional, I would say.

15PM & 16P @ 22F76 both have excellent battery life.

Yes, you are right! Just had one that won’t sync on mine. Typical crApple garbage, even the basics they can’t get right anymore.
It’s so annoying. I wish Apple would fix this before they start introducing new iMessage features and obviously more iMessage bugs in iOS 26

Guys. Not sure when it happened, but I turned on notification grouping again and the animations messed up on the first time I expanded them and ever since it's been good. So is it fixed then?

Anyone have issues with Files app playback? Especially for audio files. This bug has been persistent through all versions of iOS 18.

Anybody have issues with Reminders on this build? Everything is missing from the iPhone app but I’m still getting notifications on my watch.

Any idea how I can get them back on the phone?

The first thing I’d try is deleting and downloading the app again with a reboot in between
No dice.

Pretty soon this will be the stable os to look back on fondly (iOS 18 as a whole)

Craig seems ready with the meme intros but not necessarily the goods
