It is odd that they'd have it in the beta channel at all, if the intent is not to release it as final. I'm going to give it a go - the build being same as public version so that would mean its not in beta anymore.

Not yet visible on SE2 currently running 18.7.2 (in Canada) iOS 26.1 still showing.

Edit: 26.2 now showing on SE 2 but not yet on my wife's 13 Mini also running 18.7.2; hopefully 18.7.3 will be available soon. Apple servers must be busy!
It’s strange the way it’s presented, iOS 26 is displayed, but if you cancel out of that screen then the 18.7.3 shows up. Am updating my iPad now

I thought I'd see this update on iPhone 14 but I only see 26.2. Maybe I need to wait for a little while longer.

I just updated my iPad Pro to ios 18.7.3

BUT…..

When I tried to update as well my iPhone 14 Plus to ios 18.7.3……

This was not at all possible !
Not even the simple OPTION to update from 18.7.2 to 18.7.3 has been presented - only updating to ios 26.2. has been offered !
When I tried to update the ONLY Option my IPhone 14 offered was to update to ios 26.2. !!!

And this although apple officially offers an update to ios 18.7.3 as well for iphones….

WHY is there no option to update to ios 18.7.3 in Germany ???
even after restarting my iP 4 plus the only option visible is just
perhaps they had a problem (bug) with ios 18.7.3 ?
and therefore only present updating to 26.2 ?
I NEVER update to the new ios, I ALWAYS wait 6-12 Months to update - for good reasons !!!
I want NOT at all update to ios 26.2…. WTF ??!

Can anyone help me ?

Thanks in advance

edit:
As I see now that I am not at all the only one who faces this problem…

Hope apple will react and give us the chance to update to 18.7.3….

What do you mean exactly with „cancel out of that screen“ to get the option to update to ios 18.7.3 ?

go out from „Software update“ and try it again just shows again only the option for ios 26.2

This is the only time since many years that I cannot upgrade …

Summary:

18.7.3 is released but update is visible to only all iPads and the iPhone XS/XR
For all other iPhones, must select iOS 18 beta channel for update to show. 18.7.3 RC build number same as public release

never used the beta channel…
Could you please help me together the ios 18.7.3 release ?
Thank you in advance !

perhaps uptake of 26 has been behind this year, and there is a big push to get 18 moving to 26 on the iPhone - at least I have 18.7.3 on my iPad Pro and XS Max, it will probably be available for more iPhones next week even if it does feel like iPhones are being held hostage over iOS 26.2

That's the way it worked for me when 26 was first released. You either hit 'Back" from the update to 26 page, or scrolled down the update to 26 page where the update to 18.n.n (whatever it was then) was hidden.

I'm still hoping that's the way it will work this time. I never got an updated 18.n.n by having to install a beta version.

Edit: It seems to be working as I hoped but only for some users. It's hard not to feel that Apple is rolling 18.7.3 out slowly on purpose to get people to upgrade to 26.2, but I like to think it's just because their servers are overloaded. (Benefit of the doubt.)

I was automatically offered 18.7.3 via notification on my '20 iPad Pro. I took it.

Never been enrolled in a beta program, or launched the Software Update screen. Automatic updates off, and still are, post-update.

So to say that Apple is forcing 26 on users, and preventing holder hardware from remaining on 18 would not be entirely accurate.

iPads get the update but almost all iPhones are excluded (for now?)

I just switched to beta channel and updated on 13 mini. It carries the final build (22H217)

From December 3rd until today, the 18.7.3 update has not been available on my iPhone 11. There is only 26.2.

From my screen right now, it's entirely accurate.

15PM.

My sympathies. Trust me, I have a Mac that is booted in Mojave most of the time.

One of the most frustrating things about Apple is their refusal to be clear, and upfront about their software support policies.

They'll happily announce when hardware passes through the various declining stages of support, but with software, they force everyone to guess based on their past practice.

It looks particularly bad when the former Evil Empire of MS does the opposite, is disrespectful to users, and more galling from a company that often claims to be user-centric.

I just get software update notifications throughout the day about iOS 26.2
Still no 18.7.3 showing up
If enough of us hold back from iOS 26, maybe we will get a 18.7.4 !

As mentioned above and in the other threads, the public beta of iOS 18.7.3 has the same build number as the release version.

Thanks again. Am installing 18.7.3 beta now. Just one more question. Having done this will I automatically be updated to 18.7.4 if it's released, or will I just be notified that it's available?
