iOS 18: All the Rumors and Known Features So Far

Hope siri will be better, right now I only use her for car play, and she gotten bad. After she reads me a message she is like: do you want to respond?
Me: No.
Siri: do you want to reply with no?

Well, of course I know we will get more features leaked! I was just saying that it’s funny how they made a story months before when we only know 3 features 😅

I would love to see a redesign of the UI like how iOS 7 was but since the Vision Pro will have the current UI design, I doubt they'll change it with iOS 18
 
Just want 1) lagging UI of ios17 on iPhone 11 could be fixed; 2) left swipe into camera could be disabled; 3) widget page could be disabled; 4) widget/app gallery background do not be blurred when swiped in.
 
Wasn’t there an article a week ago about 18 being mostly fixes?

Btw ……smarter Siri, like it can get any dumber.
 
To be honest, I don’t need chatGPT-like capabilities for Siri, what I want is for her to be able to interface with all the apps better at least all of the Apple apps. Put Siri in complete control of the device and stop being so afraid that privacy will be compromised. It is important, of course, but if I can access information in spotlight, Siri ought to be able to do it by voice. Also. We need more apps to be supported by split screen.

Smarter Siri is not much progress. Is like “smarter rock”. A lot of efforts on the backend surely, very poor actual tangible progress for the end users as usual in Apple in this regard…

I assume it’s meaning that it’ll be groundbreaking relative to past Siri and possibly existing voice assistants, but not relative to things like ChatGPT 4 or other more general-purpose LLM tools.

You’re right though, it’s bad wording.

What is sure:
- some changes in UI or UX which will drive crazy some people
- some people will have WiFi problems as in every iOS iteration
- battery drain which will be fixed with some .0.1 version
- some of added new features will be 80% baked and no longer improved (Medication app, Lock Screen widgets)
 
Please get rid of flat design! Also get rid of neumorphism. Bring back full-fledged skeuomorphism. Bring back all of the same GUI elements of iOS 6.

Yeah, I know I'm only dreaming. Tim Cook is a mediocre MBA suit, so he will not realize the value of user-friendliness, and just overall fun graphics, that was present in iOS 6's skeuomorphic design.
