iOS 18 Battery Life Thread

Home and Lock Screen takes up so much battery. I’ve tried removing widgets, resetting settings, turning off my Mac.
This has been the most disappointing iPhone + software release IMO. Not only is battery mediocre, but I have random frame rate drops and random “jitteriness” where it seems like promotion isn’t working. At this point, may as well go with the normal iPhone.

Has anyone here on the 18.2 b2? I noticed on the front page that battery improvements were listed in the release notes. I’m wondering if this will make a noticeable difference.
Something tells me that Snapchat is causing the drain in your case.
That has never been listed before. I used 18.2 B1 for nearly a week, and the battery life was the same as 18, 18.0.1, and 18.1. Any improvements would enhance these previous releases for me.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it seemed odd to me. Versions 18.2 or 18.3 typically mark the time when Apple starts optimizing iOS.
I still believe my battery issues are due to a bug that not everyone experiences. I don't think this note addresses that problem.

nothing has changed tbh, i just get notifications from people messaging me. on ios 17.7 i was getting the same amount of notifactions and everything was fine. just after ios 18.1. its been horrid manc.
Ok what. This actually looks really good for mixed browsing and 3D gaming! Can’t speak that language but I presume you don’t use the Always-On Display on your phone?

It still could be Snapchat ! Not optimized for iOS 18.1…
So maybe Apple can’t fix this. Maybe try a day or two without Snapchat using and without notifications on for Snapchat?
tbf, its how communicate with friends etc so cannot not use it. i guess ill be waiting for an improved update i hope.
well, can try. Just surpised how others are getting even better battery life before, while mines draining thats all
The iOS 18.2 beta 2 on the 16 Plus is impressive. With the update running in the background, it managed 12 hours of standby plus 4 hours of reading documents and web browsing on apps with media content, all with just a 40% battery drain. And that's on a 60hz panel without the ProMotion battery-saving feature during reading. Pretty awesome, indeed.
