The update went fine, but the battery started draining. They probably did this on purpose to update to iOS 26. I just charged my phone 5 hours ago, and it's just been sitting on the table, and it's already down to 10%. On iOS 18.6.2, it was only draining 3-4% overnight.

I don't want to upgrade to iOS 26. They say the battery life is even worse. I periodically watch the "battery battle" bloggers, and they always say that even for the 16 Pro Max, the difference 1 hour of battery life under full load, and for my phone, which has a smaller battery, the difference is even more significant.

Now I don't even know what to think about this. If the battery drain continues like this and they don't release another patch, I'll have to upgrade to iOS 26.
Stay strong. That’s exactly what Apple wants you to do… don’t do it!
Could be the case that they’re going to release another update to iOS 18 to make it even worse and push you to iOS 26.
Don’t!
Never ever update to iOS 26 😄

After a hard reset, the battery life improved slightly, but it still feels different. I'm also worried that Apple closed the hole, and the Gestalt hacks no longer work through Nugget, and the shutter sound can no longer be disabled on the Japanese version.
