iOS 18 Has New Option to Pause Video Recording

With iOS 18, Apple is adding a new option that will let you pause a video in the middle of a recording, providing an option for capturing multiple shots in a single video rather than having to start and stop new videos each time.
When you start a video in iOS 18, you'll see a new pause button on the left side. Pressing it pauses the video, and pressing the button again unpauses. You can still stop a video at any time using the middle stop button.
Apple added the new video pausing feature in the iOS 18 release candidate that was provided to developers and public beta testers today.
It's likely that pausing and recording video will be a feature of the Camera Control button that's included on all of the iPhone 16 models.
iOS 18 is set to be released on Monday, September 16, while the iPhone 16 models will launch on Friday, September 20.

1 of the few real "androids have been doing this" valid points.
Wish Androids were able to upload a simple video to IG or any social network without severe quality degradation.

Your S24 ultra still cannot upload a video to social media without it looking cr@appy. At least Apple now can pause video recording.My mum's S3 in 2013 could pause video.

Absolutely true, even my 1990 Camcorder has this functionality. Apple knows how to make people stupid and there are many in this forum. I used to be one of them but learnt it back in 2016 when Apple is selling same shi*t again and again by fooling people!My mum's S3 in 2013 could pause video.

Will pause video option be only availiable on iPhone 16 or iPhone 14Pro Max also Will g’et it? I was missing that option after switch from android.

Just found out that iOS 18.1 Beta doesn’t any Videos Pause that iOS 18 RC has, anyone else having issues with the video pause on iOS 18.1Beta ?
