I want them to talk to each other! I think Reminders would be much more useful if I could add them in the calendar. I would love this! Also, I wish I could just make an email into a calendar item, with detection for meeting times and other info.
Hi. You can do this (your second wish) now. If, somewhere in your email text, there is an underlined Date/Time, you can long tap it and an option to Add a Calendar Event appears. Siri will also try to search the email for context clues (e.g. location, length of event/meeting, etc.) It is usually pretty good at it, but sometimes you'll need to update some of the Calendar entry, especially if the location isn't obvious, or if there are multiple Dates/Times present. But it's still much easier than trying to manually revert back to the email and add the calendar entry.
Hope that works for you!

I played around with a few calendars apps in the past, including Fantastical (in the days when you just paid for it, rather than its current subscription model) and Readdle's Calendars. Always ended up going back to the stock app. If you set up an appointment properly, with the correct location generating a nice map, use 'time to leave' alerts in connection with 'travel time' and add URLs, PDFs etc, coupled with inviting other people, it works really well.

Tip: When travelling, use 'floating time zone' instead of any other time zone. This way the appointment will always show at the time you enter, for you and anyone else you invited, regardless of what time zone your phone is in.

I have used the calendar as a reminder for years : meeting, appointment, family stuff etc with appropriate reminders (called ‘alert’ in Calendar). I only very recently tried to use Remainder but don’t see any difference or purpose.
The distinction is the list and simpler format of reminders. Best suited for quick or one off task. Calendar is more suited for meetings, appointments, events to attend. Reminders for tasks and lists of things to do. Reminders can be used for other things such as tracking information in a list format, you can make smart lists, etc.

Two surpridingly bad apps that sorely need an overhaul. Bring it on!
Guess they recoded from scratch for their VR headset, and now they can release them on modern hardware. With the power of AI-enhanced M4 chip, we might see revolutionary functions such as date + days = date, or their puzzling RAM_to_$$$ conversion.

I don't know if it's been suggested earlier in the thread… but I'd love for Calendar integration with Weather.
I'd love the option of a little daily weather text summary & icon on each date… (obviously this would only be available for the next 10 days)… Clicking on the icon could then open the Weather app to relevant chosen day’s forecast.

Another good integration would be with Health (Mac and iPad would need a health apps also)…
There could be small Health icons to show the rings for previous entries – and icons for workouts. Similar to the calendar within the health app itself, but more accessible.

I personally switched to stock Calendar and Reminders and dumped Fantastical and Things 3. They do what I need and having integration will be great. Calendar on iOS is sorely lacking, and needs some imagination put into it, but I won’t hold my breath. Only the iOS version of Calendar doesn’t support natural language input, and that is an oversight, since the Mac supports it. Reminders has had it for quite some time on the Mac and iOS, and though not as good as Fantastical, it is good enough. iOS 17 added natural language entry into iOS and the Mac (Sonoma) with Spotlight, so it is a handy workaround for at least capturing events on the go.

Glad they do it since I prefer to have apple's apps over 3d party solutions - nothing against innovation and quality of 3d party apps with the sole exception of their lifespan - often enough a great app is bought to be killed or incorporated into a bigger product or simply dies off for various reasons.

I don't think Fantastical is in danger on the average user front. Fantastical has shift more to the corporate user side. The biggest thing that hurts Fantastical is their pricing, in my opinion.
Fortunately I was grandfathered in so I haven't had to upgrade to the subscription, but I'm sure Fantastical 3 is coming soon enough. I love the app, but I don't want to pay $8 a month for it. It doesn't sound like a lot, but every other expense in my life has increased and just piled on.

Integration, not merging. You will be able to use the Calculator app functions within Notes.

My guess is that this is how Apple will design the Calculator for iPad - it may not be a separate app, but rather a hover-over window within the app you’re working on. This would solve how you stop filling a large screen basic functions.
I wish the integration would work like the Numi calculator app.

Personally this will be very useful, I have dozens of repeating reminders at scheduled times that would make sense to also be in the Calendar, so to have some sort of option to make calendar entries behave like a reminder (or however they plan to do it) will be very useful.

This will be a very good change. Hoping it happens with this year's update.

The Notes app and Calendar app are the ones that need integration.
The Reminders app not so much.
Typical Apple.
I disagree. IMHO it's the most useful dev to be included in Sequoia/iOS 18! Rather a lot of people moaning about the lack of this functionality in the Apple forums will be pleased too. I'm just a bit skeptical about how comprehensive it will be, given that they didn't actually show it WWDC.

Curious to know why you'd rather have Note/Calendar integration though?

All these years with an iPhone and I still haven’t figured out how to use reminders, am I the only one? I’ve tried it so many times over the years and nothing works right, I’ve never got a location based reminder work, ever, the automatic grocery list thing? Has never worked, ever, probably the most useless app Apple has ever made other than that Freeform thing.

Another area where Android is light years ahead of Apple, and there’s lots of areas.
Probably just a setting in Settings...? Location based reminders etc. all work perfectly for me, it's hurts the lack of integration with Calendar for time blocking that's been a pain. Awaiting the upgrade with baited breath... been a loooong time doing the very obvious!
