My personal speculation:
Monday or Tuesday: 20 minute video uploaded to YouTube around 9AM eastern with new MBPs, iMac and Mac Mini announcements. Think that January 2023 video with the new HomePod and M2 Macs.

Same day: iOS 18.1, macOS 15.1, iPadOS 18.1, tvOS 18.1, visionOS 2.1 and watchOS 11.1 RC released, along with updates to iOS/iPadOS 17 and 16, macOS Sonoma and Ventura.

October 28: public releases.

October 29: iOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, iPadOS 18.2, tvOS 18.2, visionOS 2.2 and watchOS 11.2 Beta 1 released.

November 11: Beta 2 released.
November 18: Beta 3 released.

December 2: Beta 4 released.

December 9: RCs release.

December 16: public release.

December 17: iOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, iPadOS 18.3, tvOS 18.3, visionOS 2.3 and watchOS 11.3 Beta 1 released.

Christmas break.
It's a very risky prediction, but there's nothing written about speculations and by logical reasoning either, but lately Apple is distracted with the betas!! 👍🤣🤣😎😎

RC today?
Public release next week 28.10.
The only thing I foresee messing up an RC release today is the potential announcement this week of new Mac hardware.

I don’t think we will see the release until tomorrow at the earliest as the Back to School promo ends today in the UK (and possibly other countries too) so I think new Macs will come once that has ended.

My prediction is that if Apple has identified the cause of the battery drain issues some users are having, they will release 18.0.2 today, followed by 18.1 RC tomorrow, which will include the battery drain fixes. If they have not resolved the issue yet, they will release 18.1 RC today.

My hunch is it's 18.1 RC today.

If the snipped article depicted in the attached screenshot that’s dated today is true then it is highly ‘unlikely’ we’ll see iOS 18.1 today.

So we’re not getting 18.1 this week after all despite all the rumors. That sucks
Why would you have ever expected it to launch today?
it was literally never rumored to launch today, and there hasn't even been an RC yet.

What? Apple is no more or less “distracted” than any other year.
last year, 17.1 launched in October, with 17.2 launching in December.
they both had Betas.

RC probably today but it won't make a difference for those of us that have been using 18.1.... The last couple of releases have been A builds so any RC released today won't have much of a performance difference.

Unless we have a major security issue, there is pretty much a zero chance of getting 18.0.2 in general. We are to close to a public release for 18.1

You're probably right. I hope that version 18.1 or the quick release of 18.1.1 will fix the battery issues for those of us experiencing them.

I think Tim is constantly reading this thread & enjoying we are eagerly waiting for the RC, so he may dreg RC till Wednesday..
