I'm leaning toward next week after the full release of 18.1. It would be great to see it today, but I have many doubts about that.

Well, technically the RC is the same as the full release. However, I think Apple wants to fully release 18.1 before focusing on the 18.2 beta.

Although I suspect you’re correct, we have no way of knowing what Apple is thinking here. We had no inkling, for example, that 18.1 would be released in beta prior to the release of 18.0.

Oh yes, I completely agree with you. I'm telling myself that we won't see the 18.2 beta, so I won't be disappointed if it isn't released this week, lol. However, we cannot truly predict what Apple will do. It's been quite a journey since WWDC.

Yes, we are in the uncharted territory of Apple’s unknowns. I found the interview with Craig Federighi with the Wall Street Journal to be quite intriguing. While he didn’t provide much information, it’s evident that Apple is determined to achieve its goals. At least we can be certain that they aren’t simply throwing a bunch of AI features out there and seeing what sticks. It appears to be a highly calculated approach.

RC - week of Dec 9th
Public release - week of Dec 16th
