There are different regulations for the smartphones and the laptops in the EU.
Some AI features will be available in the EU on the MacBook.

That's not true.

Perhaps the user doesn't have the right settings on the iPhone (phone and Siri language set to English US).

I’m the user you are referring to and I think this might be true (different regulations for iPhone vs Macbook). iPhone with 18.1 RC and MacBook with 15.1 RC, using the same EU Apple Account, system language set to US English, and Siri language set to US English. The AI works on the MacBook, but not on the iPhone.

Yes, this is what I thought, but why is Apple Intelligence working on my MacBook and not on iPhone? I’m using the same EU Apple Account on both devices.

Mac’s are not subject to the DMA because MacOS is not deemed to be a “core product”, whereas iOS (and now iPadOS as well) are deemed to be Core Products.

It hasn't been released yet but it'll likely come this week ahead of the 18.1 update next week.
I have 7A305 but I got a notifications today to check my hearing and I have the option in settings to use the Airpods as a hearing aid by taking a test or use aprevious one.

Apple will not be able to block AI geo-fencing the EU. There are too many international travelers / business partners visiting the EU from US... I assume those won't be too happy seeing their devices suddenly crippled as they enter the EU.

They will have to continue to use user specific information like Region settings, Language and Apple Account region.

Just my 5 cents... but no-one knows until its out

was gonna jump on the 18.1 RC ship so dont have to wait in line so long for the apple intelligence approval but waiting for watchOS 11.1 RC

Just change to an UK/US apple store account.

That's a bug. It's a beta OS and Apple Intelligence is a beta feature. Just may need a bit of troubleshooting. I read in another thread that changing everything back to UK (or whatever country/language you are), restarting, then changing everything back to US and restarting a second time fixed it for one person.

A bit off topic, but I can’t reach the iTunes Store from my iPhone - it says it’s not available in my country (Germany) - I could access the app yesterday without any problems - any idea? Status Apple services says everything is running…

It's experiencing problems right now. My Music tab just says "Item Not Available. The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store." The search tab works though. Going to Purchased says "Cannot Connect to iTunes Store."

I restarted my iPhone and it works again, try that too
