Every financial app I use requires a password or face id to enter the app. I would not be a customer of any financial institution that didn’t have this level of protection.
Thing is, one does not need to use shortcuts to launch an app... do they? This feature already exists – you can do this with Shortcuts!

I can't remember the name of the tweak, but it was fantastic. Finally! I remember having this back in the jailbreak days and wondered why Apple never implemented it besides Notes
Yep, and it worked wonderfully. If this comes to fruition, this feature is EXTREMELY overdue.
I appreciate everyone will have differing opinions on Jailbreaking (and that is fine), however this feature was available as a Jailbreak tweak, 10 years ago.
Heh. That's another current rumor. As should have been able to place icons anywhere we like, but this is Apple we're talking about.
He was oddly specific, wasn't he?Sounds like you and the Chick Fil-A girl have something going on.![]()
Thank you! I was wracking my brain trying to remember the name of that tweak.Yep, Bioprotect and still using it to this day (on iOS 16). Crazy it took Apple 9 years to implement this.
Seeing how that phone is 7 years old, it may be time for an upgrade anyway.Another great feature the XR will get but the X won’t😁
This option of bypassing biometrics with passcode is the same stupid crap as Windows firewall was in Windows XP.It will be great if they don't let passcode as a way to bypass biometrics.
Knowing Apple though, that will not happen.
Of course passcode will always “bypass” biometrics. The key to access the SE is locked by your passcode. Once you unlock it with passcode, then biometrics are able to operate. That’s why you need the passcode to enable biometrics when the phone boots and why you can’t just use biometrics to edit your biometrics in Settings. It will be great if they don't let passcode as a way to bypass biometrics.
