Awfull battery on 17 pro after 26.0.1 upgrade, i get like 6-7 hours sot. Just restarting the phone drains 3% battery
I also get 3-4% drain on most restarts which is very unusual.. I think it’s a bug. But my sot is very good. Yesterday I got 7hrs and 18 mins sot with exactly 50% battery usage. 17 Pro.

I don't know what's going on with notifications, but since I got the 17 Pro, I haven't received them normally. Often, until I open the app, it doesn't update the content, and I don't receive messages or emails. Despite my model having 12GB of RAM, it seems just as aggressive at closing background apps, if not more so.

Another weird quirk with this update. I woke up this morning and iMessage had been signed out “due to an error”. Never seen that before.

Bugs I’ve come across so far -

1. The contacts widget shows selected contact, but on opening the contact from the widget, it says 'No contact selected'

2. If there's a time limit on an app, and you exhaust the time on the app for the day, and you have that app set to deliver scheduled notifications, the name of the app shows up during the scheduled time, but there's nothing under the app name. Just looks very odd.

3. If you have an app open that’s in the second page of a folder, and you’re in the first page of that folder, and you close the app, the animation is all screwed up. The app flies sideways and the icon is visible outside the folder on the right for a second until it disappears.

4. You cannot take photos of the moon using 48mp for whatever reason. It works just fine if you use HEIC.

#4 is 2 separate settings. 48MP and HEIC. You can have 48 with HIEC.

Are you to say the moon doesn’t look good at 48MP? 48MP is not a smart choice for night shots as it doesn’t pixel bin, which helps increase detail in low light.

The 3rd party keyboard overlapping text box for messaging apps (WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram) is unbearable. App devs (both msg and keyboard apps) are saying it’s not something they can fix as it’s a bug in iOS 26.

Unbelievable.

No, it does not take a photo of a moon using raw. When you press the shutter, it does nothing. However, it takes it fine using HEIF format. This has been an issue since ios 26 RC. Multiple people have had this issue. He’s a Reddit post about it in action. You can test it out for yourself and see if you have this issue.

I don't understand how you want to take a photo of the moon at 48mpx, when any zoom you apply, even in good lighting, lowers the resolution due to the crop applied. The famous x8 optical quality is a 12mpx photo. Even if you put it in 48mpx mode, you'll only take the photo at that resolution without zooming, that is, at x0.5, x1, and x4... the rest, as soon as you zoom in, the crop reduces the resolution. But this is on the iPhone, Galaxy, and any other phone.

Same
My iPad Pro m1 is now bricked … hard reset just goes to the apple logo … and won’t enter DFU mode
This happened on my iPhone 17 pm and Apple tech advised to return the hardware. I was able to get it to the hello screen again, downloaded all my apps, then boom, the apple logo appears suddenly and it never recovered. I am now going to be returning it to Apple and waiting for all the HW and SW problems to be fixed!

The question isn’t a matter of what I want, it’s a bug and that’s what this thread is about. Anyway, if you’re interested in the HEIF shot on a cloudy night -

But what exactly is the error for you? Do you want 48mpx with a 40x zoom? Or is it that when you select to shoot in 48mpx raw with the 40x at night, it doesn't take the photo?

If it's the former, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but it's not an error. As I mentioned in the previous comment, as soon as you add digital zoom, the photo in good or bad light will always be 12mpx. Apple itself explains on its website that the 4x optical zoom takes the photo at 24 or 48mpx, while the 8x digital zoom always takes it at 12x.

If it's the latter, I just ran tests in HEIC and RAW in both 24mpx and 48mpx, taking photos of the moon and in good artificial light, and the photos took place well in both situations and in both modes.

This is the issue. Pressing the shutter does… nothing. Not sure what you’re using, but I’m on a 16PM. This seems to not be an issue on my secondary device (a 12PM).

I don't have this problem on my iPhone 17 Pro. I tried it yesterday, and it took a photo of the moon at x40 in RAW. The photo is almost 10 MB. You're probably experiencing a faulty installation of 26.0.1.

26.0.1 also shows that it counts battery consumption as it pleases. I plugged my phone in yesterday to charge at 11:30 PM when I went to sleep. I woke up this morning to a message in the battery section of "Device setup in progress," and in daily use it says it's consumed 4% battery, 3% for the configurator, and 1% for Telegram. First of all, I don't know what it's configuring a week after installing the update. And secondly, how can it consume battery percentage while connected to power? I've never seen this on my iPhone 15 Pro, neither with iOS 18 nor with iOS 26 in the short time I've used it with this version.

This issue has been present since iOS 26 RC, and I’m not the only one having it Reddit

I'm not seeing this and I have 3 Gmail accounts setup in Mail

Man my 17 pro max is on its way in the mail, gonna trade in my 15PM but have been holding off on upgrading to iOS 26 until right before I have to transfer data but seeing so many people reporting bugs and battery issues definitely looks concerning lol.

Do you think it’s possible they’ll let me transfer my current iOS 18 to the 17PM once it arrives?
