Yeah, I really would not recommend that, especially on an iPhone Air.Doesn’t make much sense since it typically takes longer than that for the phone to settle down after an update. No need to put unnecessary stress on the battery with the additional heat.
Agree here with the latest comment. Hold out for these last hours and jump in directly with the RC.I’m assuming RC tomorrow and I’m bored tonight so maybe I’ll install this beta 4 to use it for less than 24 hours before the RC drops.
Been seeing this issue too on my iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 26.1 b4. Funnily I’m not sure I’ve seen it in iPadOS 26.1…Same on my 17 PM, updated from 26.0.1 to 26.1 B4 and apps froze when updating. Restated the phone and then half my apps updated and then it froze again. Since restarting twice I've done multiple app updates since and they've all updated just fine.
Strange bug, since starting with the 3GS it's the first time I've seen this issue. Hopefully they fix this on the next beta as it's an annoying one.
Since restarting my 17 PM twice the moment I tried updating my apps immediately after updating to B4 due to the updates freezing twice in a row, I haven't had any issues updating in the 5 days since installing B4 strangely. I have over 300 apps installed (they add up after 16 years 😄). I always update my apps manually, so when I check for updates I may have 5 updates, 15 another time etc, but so far when I tap update all I haven't had a single issue with freezing for now.Been seeing this issue too on my iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 26.1 b4. I’ve had that happen a few times, but never repeatedly or even frequent enough to try and run it down.Didn’t see if anyone else posted this, but an issue I’m having on 26.1 that didn’t happen on 26.0.1 is that for select websites with password autofill, it’ll fill my username and password and then after it logs in, prompt me to save a username with that section blank but with my password present. The passwords app has both username and password in there; I manually type it in and hit save and then it happens again. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue? Had it on my M4 iPad Pro and now on my M5 which I set up as new with the 26.1b4 IPSW.

Don’t worry, it’s just a minor issue where the UI is not updating as fast as the updates are downloaded and installed, just giving a minute has them catch up. Also only happened right after installing the beta. 10 minutes in and some more app updates appeared and they updated with the UI just following along the process fine…
Double restart usually fixes it for me too, but the issue sneaks back after a while. 😕Since restarting my 17 PM twice the moment I tried updating my apps immediately after updating to B4 due to the updates freezing twice in a row, I haven't had any issues updating in the 5 days since installing B4 strangely. let us now how it goesI got tired of waiting for 26.1 RC and installed beta 4. Not sure why as there's nothing interesting I want to try out, but kept reading about the performance and battery improvements, so we'll see. Hopefully I don't get that bug where apps don't update.
Same. I installed it last week. I have noticed a very, very slight battery improvement. I was finishing the day around 30% and now I'm finishing around 33-35%. So not dramatic, but helpful. It does seem like the random background drain has improved. I'm on the 17PM. For the record, on my 16PM with 18.6, I was finishing the day with 45%-50%.I got tired of waiting for 26.1 RC and installed beta 4. Music app has been my biggest complaint with Liquid Glass being too tinted too. What's funny is if you change the toggle between clear and tinted, sometimes it will bug out after putting it back on clear and look like LG does in other parts of the system. It immediately reverts back once you scroll over a lighter background. Bummer.Coming from 26.0.1, the liquid glass to me looks much more frosted and less glassy. And this is using the Clear setting, kinda surprised at this. The music controls look almost solid 😕
Hi, problem still present on RC1 (for me).I have reviewed this thread and cannot determine if the following bug has been removed in any of the betas:
Settings> Privacy & Security > Wired Accessories. You cannot change the setting from "Always Allow".
A message says the following: "This setting is managed by your organization and cannot be changed"
This is a significant security issue and will allow 3rd party chargers that are hacked to get access to your phone's content.
I am on 26.0.1 and it is a private phone that is not managed by any MDM software.
