Funny. Just like switching from rounded corners and chamfered edges every three years or degrading ANC on Airpods and bringing them back on the original level after three years when introducing a new gen product and claiming it to be innovation.

Be aware that this "feature" is useless if you hit the Side Button to mute the alarm. Same with clicking the Digital Crown on Apple Watch.

The slide to stop feature is why regret installing 26.1. I understand the logic behind it, but at least give people who don't use the snooze option to still tap instead of sliding. Before 26.1 when my alarm went off at 5AM, I tapped and am out of bed. Now I have to grab my phone and possibly wake up my other half because it takes too long to swipe with my sleepy head and fingers.

I prefer Sleep Cycle’s snooze method. Just move your phone a bit. No need to open your eyes and look for the button (or slider).

I can't imagine needing an alarm to wake up every morning. Happened to me only once recently in a long time and I was completely destroyed afterwards 😅

I normally have this superpower where I just wake up on my own. Need to get up at 4 AM for a flight? No problem, I’m awake before the alarm. During the week I’m up at 7 AM sharp and on weekends around 8 AM because the dog needs his morning walk.
I know that feeling. I’ve been able to do that a few times myself in the past. Not on any regular basis, tho, but often enough to notice “hey I did that thing again… huh. Cool.”

If you can’t get yourself together without endless alarms, something is wrong in general.
ADHD is a thing, ya know. Some folks use these to create structure for themselves where none usually exists. It also can help keep you honest, like being on time for that important event.

Good for you that you don’t need such structural support.

Glad Apple gave us options, so I set it up in Accessibility to be dismissed with a single tap (as it was before 26.1).

Why so judgemental? As humans, we are all different. There are many, who sleep comes in small batches, or grabbed when they can, and so need something to aid them wake up, or take a quick safe snooze.
Those that feel they don't need an alarm clock, good on ya, I too wake around the same time in the morning, but if I've had a particularly stressful, or physical day before, I often will feel like I have woken, but know, that a quick snooze, often adds a little REM to the balance.

I'm with you. I set my alarm for when I need to wake up and I freakn wake up.. Never understood why snooze was necessary
It's an option, simply there, for those that do want it. The entire IT world is full of options, that most of us don't use, but is there a need to use veiled sarcasm or be judgemental, no, accept what there is, and if it's not for you, move along.
This thread/article wasn't about whether you needed an alarm, or a snooze function. If you went into a bar, sat next to someone who was doing something, you didn't do, and pointed it out, what do you think might happen?

Hey, has anyone noticed if the new Apple Vision Pro M5 finally kicked that annoying lens glare to the curb? I’m just chillin’ on my couch with the M2, and honestly, it’s not heavy enough to weigh me down — perfect for binge-watching! But if the M5 really fixes glare, I might just be tempted to upgrade.

I've never used snooze. I've never understood setting an alarm then pressing a button so the alarm happens later. I set the alarm when i need to wake up, not when i have to wake up to press a snooze button to go back to sleep then wake up again. We're all different. Wierd how Apple dictate how we should live. I wonder what proportion snooze and don't snooze. I must be in the minority. I wish it was easier to turn off an alarm. Imagine having to slide each letter when typing a sentence. The snooze button is big and obvious, the alarm button used to be dark and less obvious. I must have special needs since i now need to activate an "Accessibility option". Like i'm the one with the sleeping problem. Thinking aloud.

I kinda agree with that. I understand that some need to it for various reasons, but good sleep hygine includes going to bed at roughly the same time and waking up at roughly the same time, even on the weekends and days off.

I get up a 0430-0500 to get in a workout/yoga and shower before getting to work at about 7, and while I have an alarm, I haven't actually heard it in months. I naturally wake up 5-10 mins before it sounds....not bragging; it just takes practice and commitment to bed and waking times.
