Is anyone else having issues with iOS 26 rendering SLOOOWWW? I have an iPhone 16 Pro Max and when opening/unlocking the phone I can see the app icons rendering rather than a fast response. Anyone else seeing this? Makes the os seem bloated.
I am not having any issues like that on either of my iPhones, a 17 Pro Max & a 13 Pro Max both running iOS 26.1… I have no idea why this is happening to your iPhone, but if you purchased AppleCare you should give them a call. (Did you get the bare minimum of storage? I never do myself.)

It amazes me sometimes how apple chooses to introduce features...why wasn't offline lyrics a feature five years ago?

I stopped using Apple Podcasts because I have to scroll endlessly to find older episodes of my podcasts. One of them has over a thousand episodes, and there’s no way to filter or search within it. Why can’t they just add simple features like that? Every app is missing stuff like that, they are in a complete mess when it comes to basic usability.
I want to know who the idiot was that decided to remove Tab navigation from the iOS apps. The stupid idea of scrolling down forever to find something is completely foolish.

We really have gone backwards with interface design and navigation.

When the original iPad Touch launched, I recall being able to customise the Tab bar in the Music app to have whatever I wanted on it. You could swap out anything. For example, you could remove Radio and replace it with Genre, or Albums, Artists, whatever you wanted, it was an option.

Apple Music's navigation is a complete **** show. Nearly impossible to find something, with the exception of searching for an exact song/artist name.

Some idiot decided to remove the "Rooms" button from the Tab bar in the Home app, however they added "Discover" which is completely useless. Again, why not allow me to assign app sections to the Tab bar?

And as we know, some other clown decided to remove useful navigation sections from the Tab bar in the Photos app.

As you mentioned, apps are still missing basic features like inline search/filter functions. Being able to jump to a page number/section, etc.

Navigating in the Fitness+ app is also a complete mess as a result.

Someone at Apple obviously has a huge hard-on for infinite scrolling.

Lucky I don't live close to Apple HQ, as I’d have a sore hand from slapping some sense into people.

Yea, I’ve got a 15 Pro and not seeing anything like that, either. Overall haven’t seen a lot of rending issues. Some funniness with transparency in some places though less now that I’ve upgraded to 26.1.

Liquid glass slider is a huge addition. Will give users control. Alarm for reminders is also a nice addition. Will be useful for me. Would like to see live translation support more languages.

Please have a flat mode and if your going to have spindly coloured borders at least have them equal and have an option to make them obvious on the iPad in dark mode so you know where to stick your finger. The UI isn’t glass and and adding more IS less - when if you’re going to steal design clues from the Bauhaus and Dieter Rams ( we saw you Ive ) then at least take the same philosophy of less IS more. Please dont go back to windows Aero

Can someone confirm if iOS 26.2 beta fixed an issue with iMessage where audio messages are not transcribed into text?
The feature has been broken since the first betas back in June for me

I have been seeing this with the original iOS 26 as well as every iteration thereafter.....

The feature launched in the U.S. and select other countries with iOS 26, but it was not available in the EU until iOS 26.2, as Apple said it needed additional time to ensure compliance with the EU's Digital Markets Act.
To me that sounds intentional. Apple wanted to get EU citizens riled up against EU's DMA because of other restrictions and is using methods like that. Don't tell me a multi-billion $ company doesn't have enough people to get those things sorted in time. They get that done for other regulatory things like radio frequencies.

Please make it so I can see how much time there is before my alarm goes off. Android has this feature and it’s so nice.

I'm currently working with Android 16 and iOS 26... and you know what?
Clean Android from UI perspective looks 10 times better then iOS 26 - who would know I will say it in 2025
PS: but I still hate navigation implementation in any android apps _)
