iOS hasn’t evolved into some toggle jungle with more options than use cases that would warrant people losing their cool over some simple slider.
This doesn’t impede the set up process whatsoever.
Stop being dramatic. Since when are we asking Apple for less personalization, options and features?
The only negativ thing about this is that it took Apple so long to overcome their stubbornness.
I think you misinterpreted what I meant when I said “it’s like Apple’s trolling us”. A lot of people, including myself, have been asking for a system-wide Liquid Glass slider. So it’s as if Apple saw all that and was like “let’s add a slider to this one tiny part of the UI” lol

wtf is going on with Apple, these all options they giving are such un Apple like at this point they becoming Android… go all in Liquid Glass and who likes it likes it who doesn’t doesn’t change the phone if you don’t want it, idk why they have gotten this soft these past years.
Soft?
With such a drastic design change it’s not soft to allow user adjusting an effect they like or that work for them the best. It’s stubborn not to.
If you like that Apple so much, go buy a phone that runs iOS 8.

Yeah ok I see, that’s fair.

Well, hopefully, this is a sign of what's to come. Apple has been adding more theme customizations to the system over the past few years, this is a good one to add as well.

Nice! I hope they add it to the general interface too, I'd love it all super glassy!
You like it, but you hope that Apple provide this glassy reduction feature phone-wide? Ahhh,..okay.💁‍♂️🤦‍♂️

it only really works for those pre selected colors. If you go into the menu and select a different color from the spectrum, it doesn’t really look like any major difference. Maybe it’s just me lol

Apple, I know you're not a fan of this idea, but please let us adjust the first line of the date.

Oh I like this! I personally love the Liquid Glass aesthetic, but I get why people may not. Having a slider seems perfect and just matches the whole "fluidity" that Apple seems to be going for. I hope it'll become a slider for the whole UI, it seems perfect for Liquid Glass.

People are complaining that they're back-tracking but options are always good. Android and jailbroken iPhones have all manner of themes, designs, styles, and options over the years, I don't feel like adding a slider is overwhelming the end user or proving the Liquid Glass experiment was a failure.

Haven't we been asking Apple for *more* customization options for nearly decades now ever since Windows XP got the several UI styles (with the secret Zune theme you could download)?

When this was first introduced I actually got locked out of my ipad- the lockscreen image I have has a lot of refective patches in it- it's a picture of my children swiming with a lot of reflections off the sea surface. I could not see the keyboard to type my password. I was an amateur beta tester and I reported this- I felt this was quite a serious bug, but nothing was done. Even when they actually allowed you to reduce the transparency in the screen after you had logged in, the translucency persisted (they've just fixed this now) before you logged in. The workaround, it being a ipad and not an iphone, was to rotate the ipad 90 deg. which moved the keyboard off the sparkly sunny bits of the image. Lunacy! Real form before function stuff- what's happened to "it just works"?
