its getting worser
Apple: We have no idea what consumers want or what will work best, so let's just let each user design their own interface. It just works™*

*after extensive setup
iOS hasn’t evolved into some toggle jungle with more options than use cases that would warrant people losing their cool over some simple slider.
This doesn’t impede the set up process whatsoever.
Stop being dramatic. Since when are we asking Apple for less personalization, options and features?
The only negativ thing about this is that it took Apple so long to overcome their stubbornness.

I think you misinterpreted what I meant when I said “it’s like Apple’s trolling us”. A lot of people, including myself, have been asking for a system-wide Liquid Glass slider. So it’s as if Apple saw all that and was like “let’s add a slider to this one tiny part of the UI” lol

wtf is going on with Apple, these all options they giving are such un Apple like at this point they becoming Android… go all in Liquid Glass and who likes it likes it who doesn’t doesn’t change the phone if you don’t want it, idk why they have gotten this soft these past years.
Soft?
With such a drastic design change it’s not soft to allow user adjusting an effect they like or that work for them the best. It’s stubborn not to.
If you like that Apple so much, go buy a phone that runs iOS 8.

Yeah ok I see, that’s fair.

Well, hopefully, this is a sign of what's to come. Apple has been adding more theme customizations to the system over the past few years, this is a good one to add as well.

it only really works for those pre selected colors. If you go into the menu and select a different color from the spectrum, it doesn’t really look like any major difference. Maybe it’s just me lol

Apple has selective hearing for people's disdain over Liquid Glass. It's NOT just the transparency that is the issue. It's the whole bubble buttons/interface that's complete trash. This should be just an optional theme at this point. Give us back the usable iOS 18 interface until this garbage is overhauled and made to be less user hostile.

Oh I like this! I personally love the Liquid Glass aesthetic, but I get why people may not. Having a slider seems perfect and just matches the whole "fluidity" that Apple seems to be going for. I hope it'll become a slider for the whole UI, it seems perfect for Liquid Glass.

People are complaining that they're back-tracking but options are always good. Android and jailbroken iPhones have all manner of themes, designs, styles, and options over the years, I don't feel like adding a slider is overwhelming the end user or proving the Liquid Glass experiment was a failure.

Haven't we been asking Apple for *more* customization options for nearly decades now ever since Windows XP got the several UI styles (with the secret Zune theme you could download)?

The worlds most valuable company is spending way too much time playing with a transparency slider and doesn't seem to understand how legibility works.
