Ram management is very poor in this release.
I've been like this for a long time, it's not unique to this version. Despite having 12GB of RAM, my 17 Pro still closes apps just like my 13 Pro did with its 6GB of RAM. Apple doesn't seem to have optimized this aspect of iOS. Hopefully, they'll address it in iOS 27, but I doubt it.

It seems like this release carries more than one or two bug fixes… according to this blog, it’s more of a stability and performance focused update, unlike those “urgent security fixes”.

More details here:

What exactly is an “app redraw”? Is like an app reboot because it got pulled out of RAM?
Good question. It would be great to get a definition. Lots of people claim to have seen them (like a Sasquatch?) but nobody is prepared to explain them.

Maybe my definition is different… 😅

Say you’re in an app, scrolling or typing or whatever and then swipe to go to the Home Screen, all the app icons aren’t visible for a second or two while they all ‘redraw’ themselves, this happens to every app icon as you swipe between home screens.

This update is running really well on my other half’s 14 Plus after I updated that. How I don't know, but In some instances apps are opening and loading content a millisecond quicker than my 17! Good news for devices running the A15 Bionic.

Is it fixed or not?
Doubtful as it still exists in 26.5 DB 1.

We need feedback reports submitted for this!!

Here’s what I submitted:

In this version, I'm still experiencing the strange coverage issue. Ever since I updated to iOS 26.4, where my carrier and Apple enabled 5G SA calling, the phone randomly and suddenly loses both 4G and 5G coverage. It loses service for a few seconds, even when connected to satellite, and then only connects to the 3G network, even though the 4G and 5G networks work perfectly. The only way to fix this is to restart the phone; turning airplane mode on and off doesn't help. I reported it to Apple, and I was surprised to see more than 10 reports, which means it's not a widespread issue, but something must be wrong with the modem in this version.

On my M5 iPad, I keep experiencing massive performance degradation after some random amount of time (days). Once it happens, the systemwide FPS drops to well below 60 (and even more so compared to promotion), making scrolling in any app become a stuttery mess. A reboot fixes it of course. I’ve been experiencing this since at least 26.1…

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Still WIFI problems here with previous (26.3.1) and latest 26.4.1 official iOS versions on both iPhone 15 Pro Max of my wife and my iPhone 14. The workaround is switching to 5G (even at home) and switching back to WIFI until is is broken again. I also noticed this post in the 26.3 topic and this post in 26.3.1 topic.
Also I just read this post titled 'iOS 26.4.1 Problems Reported by iPhone Users After the Update' on The Mac Observer from yesterday (12th of April) indicating it as point 1 'Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues Still Not Fixed' so it seems we are definitely not the only one with this issue.

What we already tried:

- Updating iOS version (over the air

- Turn off device and turn it on again after a few minutes

- Turned off the router for a few minutes and turn it on again (power off)

- Checking 'Mobile Network: Wifi-assistance' but this was already off for both of us

What I just tried, however can't find:

- Renew Lease time as was suggested in the other 26.3.1 topic as I just tried (according to these steps). This option does not exist in current version of iOS or specifically on my iPhone 14. After 'Router' as in the screenshot I see:

IPv6-address, DNS and then HTTP-proxy, however no option to press 'renew lease'. Has this moved elsewhere or is it simply not applicable in all cases?

Damn another 13Gb download. Why are these updates so big these days, I'm sure they never used to be or am I imagining that?

I’ve seen something similar while driving. When exiting a certain tunnel with a 5G antenna located right at the end, the phone almost loses signal inside the tunnel, which is reasonable, but as I leave, it shows no bars (I can see this on the CarPlay screen). Then, after about 20 seconds, it jumps to full 3G signal, and shortly after that, it switches to full 5G signal, even though I’m already well past the antenna, maybe 45 seconds beyond it.

Interestingly, when driving in the opposite direction on the same road, the phone stays on 5G for quite a while even inside the tunnel.

I should mention that this happened around three times on the same stretch of road, and at the time I had 5G SA calling (VoNR) turned off. I’ve now enabled it to see how it behaves. In any case, it’s good to know I’m not the only one experiencing this issue.

My carrier is Movistar Spain (version 69.0), running on iOS 26.4.1.

I didn’t experience this issue on iOS 18.6.2, which was the previous version I had on my iPhone 16 Pro.

In my case, it happens randomly. It's happened three times, but none of the previous incidents were similar enough to identify a pattern. It started happening with iOS 26.4 when my carrier, Orange Spain, enabled VoNR calls.
On Friday, I was driving to Madrid and suddenly lost signal. After about 30 seconds, it switched to 3G even though I had 5G SA. I didn't get 5G coverage again until I restarted my phone.
I reported the issue, and according to Apple, there are more than 10 reports, so something is wrong with the current modem that's causing this behavior for some of us.

Try to report it to your carrier as well, they have dedicated teams looking into this kind of interop issues and they may be able to tweak something on their side. My carrier (Sunrise in Switzerland) also has 5G SA with VoNR but I am not experiencing this issue (iPhone 17 Pro Max).

I did it, but they don't know anything. They just keep telling me to restart my phone, that's all it takes, that it solves the problem. But I already know the solution, I don't need them to tell me haha

That's the problem, you are getting scripted answers from 1st level support. Try to tell them you are technically knowledgeable and you would like them to escalate your case to engineering. With a bit of insisting and the right agent answering, they might do it (YMMV).

In my experience reporting errors to my carrier, and others I've dealt with, it's pointless to insist they escalate the issue. The times I've managed it and supposed network experts have called me back, they knew less than the sales rep who opened the ticket for me haha
Honestly, Spain is light years behind in terms of quality support.

I know this may not be helpful, but I just wanted to reiterate how fresh and snappy my iPhone SE 3rd Gen feels. I haven’t experienced any bug yet, and it’s still soon to evaluate the battery life, but I’m very happy with how polished this version feels.

Of course, I installed 26.4.1 via DFU recovery

I'll second this. My M1 iPad Pro has gone from juddering every time you summon the app library to 100% smooth animations. Battery seems better as well. They seem to finally be getting the bugs out and making it as slick as was promised.

I'm currently installing on my 12 Pro and will report back how that goes.
