Does any of this have anything to do with my Siri acting super strange last three weeks it’s worse then normal. “Siri turn off the kitchen lights” Siri” what was that pause the Apple TV in bedroom1” 😡
Yeah, mine seems to take three repeats to get things to happen now. Frustrating.

I mean Apple is in a bind here. You can thank Joz and his "crack" team in Marketing for pushing out ads showing this feature working for a phone that is now over a year and a half old.

Now it could legit be May before the feature is released. May 2026 btw, when they promised 2025.

Here's a good rule of thumb: don't announce unfinished products. Hello, AirPower.
Apple used to underpromise and overdeliver. Now they overpromise and underdeliver. Their software is hot garbage.

“Siri, where’s my phone?”

*Thinks*

“I can play a sound on them, as long as you’re sure that no one’s wearing Steven’s headphones”

Shakes head

Whether Siri is delayed again or not, it wouldn’t surprise me for Apple to not just throw the new features into a random beta of an upcoming point release.

Whenever the new Siri is finally released (even if in a beta capacity) I imagine Apple will have a big keynote to show off all the new stuff.

Siri continues to "learn" your speaking patterns, so over time, it may become less optimal if there's background noises or others speaking when you are.

You could try to start fresh and train Siri on your voice again.

Turn Siri off, and then on again, and it should prompt you to speak the sample phrases?

Likely won't see light of day. If the same accuracy issues plague it like AI, well, someone outside of Apple's gonna have to figure out that magic, with maybe a need to switch LLMs on the fly depending on the subject.

No way this comes before 27. They don’t launch new features this late in the cycle.

The fact that Siri doesn’t always respond or correctly means they finally actually tried Siri instead of just telling us how great it is. That’s just Siri, it will always be Siri.

The things they promised in 2024 are simply not possible with Siri. We won’t see any of it until they get Gemini integrated. And even 27.4 is a tight target for that.

That was before the Gemini deal, so I imagine they are on their 3rd architecture already without ever having shown even a demo of this vaporware.
They just don’t have the skill for this (like Apple Maps). They don’t excel at everything. That’s very hard to do. I respect the vertical integration (and support it over horizontal, but if someone specializes, and it’s not critical, maybe suck it up, pay the fee, and have them do it? They’re already doing their own version of Qualcomm modems and chips. But Apple is going to be Apple and want their walled garden I guess.
