Good thing I’ve got automatic updates deactivated (and that Apple devices can’t self-install an update to save themselves) because I am NOT letting Apple inject more ads into my full price unlocked iPhone 16 Plus.
Too late, no matter what version of iOS is on the device, Apple's in control.

It’s a myth that users have full control over their phones, locked or unlocked no matter where it came from or how much it cost.

Welcome to Apples World!

Was the ability to change the Lockscreen in the Focus Mode "Do Not Disturb" added with 26.5 ?

If I remember correctly I was able to change ANY Focus Mode Lockscreen, except for the Do Not Disturb.

Am I mistaken?

That’s all great and whatever, but couldn’t they fix autocorrect and the horrible typing experience going on with the current keyboard first?
That'll be an iOS 29 feature after they've delayed the new siri to iOS 33.

Just wondering... over 50 vulnerabilities... how is that possible? Are they adding previous iOS Vulnerabilities, just to have something new to "patch" and making sure Pride stuff is pushed to our eyes?
Every time they work on something, they create a vulnerability, and every time they release software, it takes a while to find those vulnerabilities. This is normal for software development and Apple isn't resilient from this.

IMO, Suggested Places are ads. I am completely uninterested in "suggestions" (ads) in a map utility.
Agree,

but thanks be to Apple that the suggested places (ads) are only when pressing on the search field.

(The Siri Suggestions are still on the pull up screen, which are helpful for things like appointment addresses and commonly visited places at certain parts of day. THOSE are actually helpful, and can be turned off.)

I’m also really happy they buried the “guides we love” at the end of the pull up screen. They can just go ahead and delete those: they are such a bother. (Yeah sure, keep them in the search screen if you really must.)

You must not have any other apps on your phone then, too! I mean, ads are everywhere.

It doesn't matter if you paid full price or not for the hardware, you can't own the software.

Here is a new feature. IOS 26.5 broke Siri!. :

iPhone 17 Pro, AirPods Pro3, Apple Music and Overcast. Siri no longer follow voice commands. Listing to Music, say “Siri Next” Siri lights up, says lit, does nothing. No next song. Overcast, get to a commercial, say “Siri, fast forward 2 minutes “. Siri lights up, mutes Overcast, stays lit, does nothing. Just hangs, mute, with the Siri phone halo on. Worked fine yesterday on 26.4.

Most worthless iOS update around! RCS is still beta. Maps ad's and a horrible wallpaper. Apple is really rolling on 2 cylinders.
Yep. They keep on rolling out a bunch of useless garbage and REFUSE to address the core issues that have plagued us for a long time, like:

Terrible Siri
Bluetooth issues
Autocorrect and spellcheck
The WORST map app
Camera shutter lag
Stuttering when scrolling
Battery life

I have an Android S25 I think its called...Its a company issue phone and it is AWESOME, zero issues, everything works very well. Heres the problem on why I don't think I should buy a personal Android phone. I keep ALL of my information like photos, contacts, email, files, passwords, literally everything on Apples iCloud, plus I am a long long time Mac user and always will be even though Apple is well on their way to iOS'ing the crap out of Macs.

Well, kicked off a TimeMachine backup to my Synology NAS and it "appears" to be finally working . . . fingers crossed that the SMB / TimeMachine issue has been resolved with 26.5

You do know that, at this stage in the release cycle, most of the work goes into bug fixes. We don't normally expect significant new features in a #.5 release. I don't see bug fixes as worthless at all.

Not univerally broken. I just tried that and it works fine. I suspect something else is going on with your device. You might start with a reboot to get things synced up again.
