iOS 26.6 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

It will actually have “EN” for English:

What you see there depends on what other keyboard layouts you use.

If English is your only Latin-alphabet keyboard, iOS will show “A” instead of “EN.”

If you add another Latin keyboard (for example French or Spanish), the indicator changes from “A” to “EN” for English, while the other keyboard gets its own code such as “FR” or “ES.”

Non-Latin keyboards will show a different symbol entirely, such as λ for Greek.

Although some people have attempted to justify "A" as representing Latin for some reason, I see it as a bug. It's been this way for ages on MacOS too, and Feedbacks have been ignored.

If they'd responded "working as expected" then it'd lend credence to the Latin theory, but they haven't, so I remain unconvinced.

Anyone else having issues with the ESPN app on the beta? I can open it but after a minute it shuts down. This is the only app doing this for me right now.
 
The only issue i have, is that the keyboard sounds are stop playing from time to time - only a reboot fixes it. otherwise really good battery life and stability (iphone 17)

This has been happening to me for some time on various prior 26.x minor versions. For a while I thought it was tied to a VPN I use that blocks ads and trackers, but I think the ESPN app has been stable for me for the past week or so even with the VPN enabled. I'm still on 26.5(.1). So I've seen this behavior but not related to iOS version the best I could tell.

Can any non-US members please see if Apple Cash is showing in their messages drawer please? I’m in the UK and it’s always there (on all versions) even though we don’t have it over here, and likely never will.

Anyone having an issue with the app update? There are two apps, FPL & Tesla app, that keep showing that they need to be updated after I update them.

App Updates - broken

iOS 26 App Store updates are in a loop for me Seems random. One app I just removed. eBay and Tesla are stuck Stable iOS 26.5, coming back to Dev 26.6 for hopeful fix. Can't shake it Hard reset, delete apps and reinstall, sign out and back in to Apple account, everything short of resetting...

Started only a day or three ago for me. Interesting I'm not the only one!

Monday I'll likely wipe my iPhone Air to begin the new beta adventure anyhow

For me, about a month ago I hopped off the beta cycle and just ran stable. After this app update problem I decided to get back in the dev beta with hopes of it fixing.. nope

My two apps that are stuck are eBay and Tesla

I have 1 app (Monster) that updates everytime I go into the App Store. It has been doing this for close to 2 weeks.

I’m experiencing the same problem with the eBay app. I have an iPhone 17 Pro running iOS 26.5.1.

Edit: WhatsApp is now doing it too.

Edit 2: WhatsApp updated not long after I added the edit above. All other updates have completed successfully but eBay still fails to update.

Just a note of detail on the looping app update issue: I was running the stable branch when this began, so the problem has nothing to do with the beta - and the problem continues
