Tyranny? Really? Back in the pre-electronic days an alarm clock rang just once, no snooze, no tyranny. We survived just fine.
Back in the pre-electronic days we didn't have electronics and we survived just fine, that doesn't mean I want to go back to those days. I like my Mac, I like my iPhone, and now I like my adjustable snooze...and I think I can survive just fine with these things too.

PS. I think the word tyranny was intended as hyperbole. No one thinks a fixed snooze is the equivalent of Stalin crushing the kulaks, but being able to adjust the snooze is something that a lot of people have wanted for a long time (including me), seems relatively simply to produce from a coding standpoint, and Apple has been unwilling to provide for almost 20 years. Given these facts, a little hyperbole doesn't seem like that awful a thing.

Actually you didn’t. Average life expectancy is almost 10 years longer today than in 1970. Who’s to say it wasn’t your ****** alarm clocks that killed you?

Apple gives up control so reluctantly.

Next on the tyrannical alarm feature request list is rising volume alarms and ability to set a separate volume level for alarms. If you’re a fellow light sleeper you’ll know what I’m talking about.
A complement of easily accessible volume sliders in one view may be needed. It's one of the reasons my friend returned to Android.

There is some sort of science in not snoozing too long as going back into deep sleep and coming out is not good for your 'sleep hygiene'. or something like that. I think it's 20 minuites or less.

We won't be free of Tyranny until we can OUR ALARMS AND OUR RINGTONE ARE ALLOWED TO BE SET TO DIFFERENT LEVELS. HOW IS THIS STILL SOMETHING WE CAN'T DO???

Good that finally this change is possible. Should have been allowed years ago.

I never understood people using alarms to wake up or AirTags for losing things. How can you lose things? Just put them every time at the same spot, it’s not that complicated. And waking up for me it’s automatic but my mom always said I was special. Go figure.
Here's another tip. Tie a piece of string through everything you own. If you ever lose something, just follow the string from beginning to end and you're bound to find it.

Funny thing is, the 9 minute snooze is not only on iPhone. I have also discovered that on other alarm clocks despite being digital alarm clocks that is not running on gears.

Is there an option for random? It would be great to define a range so that it can be between 5-15 minutes for example. Every morning, new chance :)
