Lots of small things broken. This, the intermittent alarms I have not been able to make sense of that sometimes just do not trigger or trigger with no sound, for me the medication reminders that no matter what I do disappear when focus mode changes.

this is really buggy, spotlight search is not showing me what i am really looking for especially on the apps so i always end up going to app library. Attaching photos in the imessage will just hang then app will close itself.

This issue notwithstanding, did they ever fix the inability to search into the past using the first-party calendar application? I'm still on iOS 15, but for the longest time (and possibly still today), Apple prevented searching more than 12-13 months into the past on iOS, despite the entirety of events actually being stored on the phone. It was never an issue on macOS, even on significantly older machines.

I wasn't aware of this bug and just tried to reproduce it on my 17 Pro. I ran several searches on words that I knew were in my calendar and every search worked for me. Yay!

This, or a very similar issue, has occurred on many iOS/iPhone replacements in the past. I have always fixed it by resyncing to iCloud as described above. It is not a new bug to iOS 26, but is probably a bug in updating to new version/iPhone. Easy to fix.

Wait… is that the failed search bug for any event beyond 1 year from current date…? I thought that bug has been present as far back as iOS 13…

I had this issue in one of the early beta builds. Fixed it by turning calendar sync off, restarting the phone, and then turning the calendar back on.
I didn't need to restart the phone. Just remove and re-add the calendar. Thanks!

I should add, I only had the search issue on my iPhone Air. My iPad and MBP were fine.

If Apple cannot get simple search right, how in the world will they ever be able to get AI right?
Open the clock app, peek the timer and scroll down the hours option constantly and you will see that hours is not in the circle - it’s just a long line.. 🤣 I’m m no kidding, it’s true

Have not yet updated my phone nor got my new 17 Pro Max. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. Will wait for a few more days before updating.

Anyone seen the issue with Reminders? You go to add an item, the keyboard pops up, you scroll down and the keyboard partially disappears and crashes the entire app. I thought this was just me on my 16 Pro but it's the same on the 17 models I tried in store and on the 13 mini and 13 Pro.

The other funny thing was how when I went to pay for a new Apple Watch at the weekend the Apple employee's device was also running 26. I had to enter my email address and the keyboard covered the textbox so I couldn't see what I was typing. I couldn't move the page or scroll up or down. He said to me "Yeah I don't like the new update".

iOS26/iPad26 are the worst updates I've experienced. How Apple get away with this is amazing. Apart from the silly Apple website feedback page what other options are there?

I fixed it by turning icloud calendar on and off in settings.
Account > iCloud > saved to iCloud > iCloud calendar > toggle use on this iPhone on and off (keep on iPhone) and merge
Will definitely keep this in mind, if there are any issues with my device after I update. Hopefully Apple will fix it in the next update.

All of this is why leadership needs to change at Apple.

Something is rotten there, where they have the resources they do but for some reason they don't have the ability to retain the talent and structure to push out polished software and features in a timely fashion.

What the breaking point for Tim Cook will be is apples reputation, valuation, revenue etc. not some discussion about bugs in an anonymous Internet forum.

I’m sure if I went back into the archives there’s were many of the same comments applied to iOS 18. And here we are now.

Good thing they prevent you from downgrading back to iOS 18. That way they don't have to fix bugs since you're forced to stay on iOS 26 whether you like it or not. I like this business strategy, I'd do this too if I only cared about money.

Exact. The sole reason the core Apple designers left. The only design is $$$ design.

The new leaders pouring in are nowhere near product people. Only Finance people. Apple will go down. Intel was also taken over by a finance guy, see what it has become? Begging for money, 10 years ago they were the behemoth of chips.

Great fun, isn't it?

And we're just a couple weeks away from the annual gaslighting about how "popular" the new iOS (26) is!

(since nearly everyone was forced into using it)

A friend bought the new Apple Watch with iPhone 16. He could not use it cause the iPhone was still on iOS 18. He was forced to upgrade to make use of his new Apple Watch.
