You're naive if you think designers have any say in how the products look and work fundamentally at these companies. It's usually a top-down business decision where the top brass forces the designers to copy whatever is the newest and shiniest because that sells better in the market.

You didn’t read my comment well enough I guess because I was saying that they get told to copy iOS which makes it a waste of designers as professionals.

Nowhere in your comment did you suggest that they get told to do this. Instead you implied that they made the choice of copying this design and should be embarrassed about it. Not every designer has the privilege of being able to choose to work on what they want (vs putting food on the table).

Lmao you came here just looking for a fight. I said it must be embarrassing to not be able to do any real design work, be told just to copy another company’s UI, and try to be proud of your work that you shortcutted.
