How are the designers for these companies not embarrassed to work there when doing stuff like this? Imagine your daily duties include ripping off a competitors design and software and not using your experience, expertise, creativity, or intellect to design something yourself.

This is hardly liquid glass. It's just the old style background blur with a glass-like outline. It's missing the actually good looking part which is the distortion effects near the edge.
You're naive if you think designers have any say in how the products look and work fundamentally at these companies. It's usually a top-down business decision where the top brass forces the designers to copy whatever is the newest and shiniest because that sells better in the market.
Yes Xiaomi likes to copy apple's UI but in this case Apple is the one copying the design. Xiaomi had the plateau design with a screen in the 11 Ultra. No doubt they were motivated to bring it back because the 17 Pros also have it though.

What people seem to forget is that like it or not, the true feature of Liquid Glass is not how it looks glassy, it's how it ACT glassy. I really doubt your jailbroken theme was able to provide real time deformation in the UI elements to mimic the reflection of the environment on glass.
People tend to say Liquid Glass is a copy of Windows Aero or a copy of "jailbroken Winterboard themes". Well, that's just the easy and lazy answer.
Again, nothing to do with whether we like Liquid Glass or not. But facts can't be ignored.
Regarding this visionOS mockup, the lock screen looks very Apple-like for sure but judging by the video it looks like they chose the frosted look over real "glass". That's why their allusion to the water drops seems more like just an intention of provoking Apple more than anything else.

I don't understand why they copy. Asian countries are more than capable of creating their own things at this stage, yet they prefer to look over their shoulder and copy someone else's work. I'd be embarrassed.
Samsung and android are the two most pathetic companies in the world. All they do is copy real companies. Samsung wouldn’t exist without Japan in America, showing them how to build things. And everything they build is garbage. It breaks after a year. You can copy technology all day long but crap is crap.
Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has taken some inspiration from Apple's Liquid Glass design language for its latest operating system update, OriginOS 6. Unveiled this week, OriginOS 6 has the same rounded buttons and translucent glass look as iOS 26.
In a demo video, a Vivo smartphone features an interface that could be easily mistaken for iOS 26. There's a Liquid Glass clock, Control Center, squircle icons, glass-like rounded buttons, translucent app folders and dock, translucent notifications, and even wallpapers that shift with a 2D to 3D effect like Apple's Spatial Scenes.
There is no mistaking the Liquid Glass design influence even though Vivo references water when describing the operating system. "With OriginOS 6, every swipe, scroll, and tap flows like never before. No lags. No stutters. Just effortless motion built for the way you move," reads some of the marketing material for the update.
Vivo is a Chinese smartphone maker that sells its devices in China, India, and other countries. Most Vivo smartphones are not available for purchase in the United States, but Vivo recently received certification for the Vivo X300 FE, which it will sell in the U.S.
