Got my first iPhone in 2009, moved from Windows phone. Yes, I love it, AND... that was the last time I could have 5 days weather displayed on my lock screen. C'mon Apple!

Somehow iOS looks so childish and so awkward with this liquid ass design. Lockscreen could be done much better like Windows phone used to have, this design with big ugly clock font on top…🙁

Yeah and the ugly long clock does not mean anything but showing how ugly your clock is. I would NOT want the clock to stretch like that on my Lock Screen. I never used a windows phone but iOS 26 Lock Screen isn’t all rose and shine either compared to iOS 18.
 
This liquid glass thing will be toned down just like how the thin font of iOS7 was thicken in later update.
 
Great article that perfectly highlights what's wrong with Apple these days. Why even have a clock on there when it's impossible to read it? Form over function nonsense.

Here's a suggestion for Apple: Don't even show the right time or a time at all, just render beatiful random numbers or shapes into the home screen with amazing liquid effects.

See I’m not sure why everyone keeps referring to Vista. It had a sheen. But iOS 26 is not like that at all. And the name Liquid Glass seems spot on to me. Especially when scrolling and you see things move behind menus. It looks great and I am sure there will be some tweaks ahead for stability.

The only feature I need is for the lock screen to… lock.

No widgets and esp. no camera. LOCKED.
 
This all looks pretty exciting to me based on the pictures.

It’s the Now Playing widget that concerns me. Apple does so much work to allow the Lock Screen to be customized, but that Now Playing widget shows up constantly, at least for me. It’s either set to control my Apple TV or it has some random song from the Music app I’ve never played. Is it just me?

Why on earth would they automatically throw that on your screen with no way to disable it and no easy way to dismiss it.

More than anything I wish Apple would copy the universal and swipable media controls, which are not limited to one app at a time, Google introduced with Android 11.

It would be genuinely useful to be able to pause one app and resume another all from the same interface.

Im very curious about spacial scenes. Its a cool feature and all, but something that's always bugged me especially since this was announced is the fact that iPhones can now capture spatial photos, and they haven't done literally anything with it besides a Vision Pro which not that many people have. Why not already create this feature when you take a spatial photo? So confusing.

Generally, I like the optic, but the stretched time looks somehow silly in many of the example images that have been shown.
 
I can just guess that liquid glass will look way better in real life than on those images. Also I had the feeling it looked way better in the WWDC video than now as it seemed to have a reduced effect for readability. I don't thing this compromise will work out.
The clock behind the wallpaper looks great, though.
And yes, we need more cat images!
 
Is there a way to turn on the Apple Music lockscreen? I’m on ios 26 on iPhone 16 Pro and i dont see it ever. Everything seems to be turned on. I just get the widget
Cute dog but man, everything is super hard to read.... 🤦‍♂️

They clearly lack any innovative features so they came up with this.

There's barely a single screenshot there that would pass the WCAG Color Contrast Checker.

I won't be installing IOS26 unless there's an option to ensure you always have a readable screen.
I wonder, had iOS 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 passed this WCAG Color Contrast Checker?

It seems like contrast is on the same level, that’s why I am asking
 
Like all the changes for the lock screen in iOS 26 especial the spatial scenes. Will definitely customize a lot once I update.

Windows phone? Hahahahahah it looked like a Lego bricks nightmare.

Deez ugly tiles, oh I still remember how much I hated them. When Windows 8 was out I was like “tf is that? Is this even usable?”

If there is liquid 🍑, it is indeed Microsoft design department
