The only good thing about this time change, lol.
Well, it is also lighter in the mornings. 😉
And it is getting dark earlier in the evening. I hate it.
But yeah... at least the RC will be an hour early, did not think of that.
I’m surprised this hasn’t been corrected yet, but in the US, the time rolls back one hour in November. So Europe would actually need to wait an extra hour. If it were March, clocks would move forward one hour, so Europe would then get updates an hour early.
Europe also observes DST, which ended today. So anything released this week will be an hour early for them. When the US changes time next weekend, they’ll be back on the same schedule.
Oh my mistake. So yeah, hour early this week. What threw me off is that the post said “next week”, so I thought they meant the week of November 2nd.
That tripped me up at first too. I think they generally consider Monday to be the first day of the week, compared to Sunday in the US. So today (on Sunday when it was posted), the upcoming week is “next week” for them…and “this week” for us.
The US is changing tie on Nov 2d so for the final release we'll be back to the usual time difference .
Yes, for us Europeans the week starts on Monday!

Will be 1 hour late (from 1am ---> 2am) in China after DST, sad. Better sleep before 0:00 and wait for a morning surprise then.
want them to just release 26.1 this week and skip the RC since this is typically been the week we see the .1 release since way back

Sure, you can install any iOS variant (beta, RC or public releases) via the IPSW files. I usually go through different betas on OTA and then always install the public release with IPSW files on top.
I am the same way. My best answer is that it is inconsistent if you are on windows. Occasionally Apple devices will allow it and occasionally it won’t. I would try it and find out.
You may have better luck with 3Utools which is third party software and has historically worked much better for me than Apple Devices however it does take much longer to install, as in 1hr+
Of course I still back up in Apple devices before doing that.
If you are on Mac you will probably have no trouble installing the IPSW
Ironically iOS 13 was in a very bad state when it was released and got a lot of bad perception, just like iOS 26 (not for me but for many others). It was the reason for Apple changing its testing procedures.
You can install the RC from an .ipsw file just as you would a beta release or an official release--
