iOS 26 Speculation Thread

Monday or Tuesday should be the final beta (beta 8) and then yes RC should be after iPhone show, which is rumored to be Sept. 8 or 9. Which should be announced this week also since we are 2 weeks out only.
But normally there is a 2 week gap between final beta 8 and RC.
The end of the beta cycle is here, man feels like a long time since June...

For me it’s short like hell, feels like a few weeks 🤣

Hopefully a bit more polishing !

And i speculate that we will see sometime in the iOS 26 cycle a overhaul of the iTunes Store , its buggy as hell and still old design - so maybe an integration into the music app (hopefully!) ?

Seeing how you can now hide the iTunes Music & iTunes Movies apps on Apple TV, I would assume a complete removal is coming and everything will be merged into Apple Music as the purchases of TV & Movies are already & have been for a while done thru Apple TV app...

Wait. What do you mean? I am slightly confused. Only because you said you can hide things on the Apple TV, but you say it will all be merged into Apple Music?
 
Just a question on what some folks call AI. I have/use ChatGPT, Copilot & Gemini on my iPhone and like to compare results by asking each APP the same question. Does anyone else do this and/or use these APPs? Thanks also which is preferred?
 
My guess is beta 8 Wednesday and 12 days later RC after event in the 8th Monday. That’s my guess, last year there was 12 days between beta 8 and RC so that lines up, if the event is on Monday the 8th

My guess is today, because in only two weeks we got the 8th of September and Tuesday (the 9th) is most likely the keynote for the iPhones, so more likely today than Wednesday!

Beta 8 most likely today :)
Pretty happy with iOS 26 since beta 5 & 6. Beta 7 runs much cooler on my 15 Pro an the battery life increased. The phone is still not a battery runtime king, it never was, but it’s relatively solid. Hope for more refinements until the RC and then later with 26.1.
