I forgot Safari exists. Macos27? What about normal file manager? Normal dock? Some useful features? Who at all uses Siri?! Touch screens?! Are they completely insane there? 20 years cannot improve Finder?! Please retire, give young people way to make Macos Pro looking. No one needs this 27. give us Finder and Dock and you've done

Can you ask it to hide a text block or paragraph if it recognizes certain "characters" or phrases starting with T or else in the keyword? That would be neat to stay sane!

Can I create an extension where I can highlight text, then send these highlights to Apple Notes automatically?

Can Apple please improve Safari’s website compatibility so we don’t have to rely on Chrome as a fallback? It’s frustrating that so many websites still don’t work properly in Safari, making it difficult to use the internet with Safari alone. I don't really care for anything else!

I just updated to iOS 27. My existing Safari tabs have not been organized into groups. Is this supposed to only group tabs automatically going forward and not for already open tabs?

I remember Bonanza. Ol’ Ben kept tabs on his brood so he could boost their productivity on the ranch. I liked the episode where they went on safari, maintaining a close-knit grouping to avoid being taken by surprise by leopards and other big cats. But when Hoss began delivering all his lines in pirate speak, that’s where I drew the line and created a focus extension to minimize his appearances to down below the fenceline.
The Big Cats are legacy. Safari was in Tahoe, which btw, was where Bonanza was filmed.

I am very doubtful on whether I would want AI or anyone moving around my tabs, but when—I guess—there is not any more real innovation to announce..

I guess this is what we get 🤷‍♂️
Hopefully it’s optional in that case

What’s the point to notify me if it only updates once a day max. Oh thanks for letting me know that restock happened 12 hours ago and is out again
I tried this, tracking software updates for Golden Gate, and it works perfectly for a lot of things once the day is fine, but I do take your point

The only big flaw about notify me is half of the pages I want it to notify me of updates it refuses to do so. It says it can’t fulfill the request privately and will refuse to do it.
I ran into that problem, but in each case I sorted it by just changing what I wrote about the notification. Update or notify me when page changes seem to work in most instances

I think the interesting part of the release is how the 500+ bug fixes and numerous correcting standards implementation will result in a more reliable experience. I remember reading some discussions over on the Web Standards Github and it appears that there were issues being held back for this release because the changes that needed to be implemented requiring major changes to the underlying code. I'm a bit conservative so I avoid running the beta release on my computer but looking forward to see what the final release of Safari 27 is like and it's development driving forward because at the moment Safari is still very much behind when it comes to implementing agreed upon work for the 'Interop 2026' project.

still a crap browser. has no ad blocker. and the extension system is so weird. like why do i need to install a totally standalone app running in the bg just to block ads. it should be backed in. browsing the web without ad blockers is super spammy, experience is total crap, and you are much more prone to hacks.

brave is the best thing out there.

i like safari's UI, but if the UX sucks, why use it.

The features I am looking forward to: Custom Extensions and NotifyMe.

I will never use the Automatic TAB sorting. I put TABs how I use/need them - for me if the AI sorted them by categories and what not I would constantly hunt for them and actually waste more time searching for them I would imagine.

I use AdGuard on macOS at System Level and on iOS via VPN thingy. On iOS it is more limited but works. I do agree though. Brave is my default browser on iOS.

I like the UI of Safari too - but without adblocking I simply cannot and will not use any webbrowser.

Same reason I uninstalled the YouTube App and use Safari for the YT Website (with AdGuard Filtering) to get rid of all the ads on iOS.

I simply could not live without AdBlocking on my devices anymore, it is just too many ads everywhere :-/

Still bland and still boring interface as normal. 🙄
What do you expect from a browser interface?

For me it should show the content of what I am looking at and otherwise stay out of my way.

With that being said. What other browser do you personally prefer/like? I heard good things about a paid browser named Quiche that is very customizable. I have not used it myself though.

Hard disagree. I don’t understand why macrumors makes these wack-ass graphics. Why not just use the real app icon? The drop shadow makes no sense, needle cut out of the compass, and the glass is bringing the blurred bg into focus, which is the opposite of what the glass effect does in the OSes. I don’t get what macrumors is trying to accomplish with these designs. Working hard to make it look worse
Hard disagree. I don’t understand how Apple designers keep flip-flopping in every direction, only to finally arrive at the conclusion that a 2D blue circle slapped on a rounded white square is the culmination of all their skill. And Apple’s paying these people?

At least MacRumors put in some effort and didn’t rob their employer.

I only have this issue right now with one page, an online message board. I’ve tried to tell it to notify/update me of updates, when new posts are made, anything changes and every possible way gets blocked saying it can’t be done privately.

I’ve been able to have it update me when new products are added to a store, new items are announced on a manufacturers website, when my zoo has new events going on, when the zoo has a new update on their home page with any announcements, but not on an online message board discussing things happening at the zoo. I had it saved as an open tab in safari that I’ll refresh every few days but it would be nice to close that tab and go back to having only one tab open in safari instead of 3.

Can I use AI to see no Ai written articles, see no ads and to detect and not show the 2nd thru 25th+ tweet etc saying the same thing ?

Can AI show me the product I search for on Amazon first in the list instead of under a bunch of ads and other junk?

AI would be great if it could hide all the trivial articles on MacRumors and indicate when the same all time low price has happened 25x in the past year.

Funny how the great uses of AI for me would be editing 99% of websites.

actual smooth scrolling without the extreme jitter on the desktop (using mos for example) would be nice.
Right? When I saw the list of "features," I got excited because this is the one thing that keeps me from using Safari on macOS.

As of the first beta, I don't notice any improvement. It's the same jittery mess as always.
