iOS 27 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Patiently waiting for beta 3 on Monday……beta 2 works great apart from battery life…..haven’t seen so ****** battery life in the recent history of betas neither dev nor public

WatchOS on Ultra 3 - battery life is even worse….1.5 days is max I can get compared to 3-4 days on every other beta before….

The AL doesn't allow duplicates. I guess you either have apps missing from your home screens (maybe clicked the wrong option when deleting an app) or you've found a new bug. I'm assuming you have "Add to Home Screen" set in settings.

The Home Screen does, but there's currently a bug whereby if you drag it from siri/search it will silently delete any other copy - you have to do it from the AL.

I spent some time matching apps and found a couple of things.
I had 5 apps in the App Library that were not on my Home Screen. These look like past deletes that were still in the AL. Aside that, there were a few number of duplicates in the App Library itself.

So no issue / bug.
 
Hopefully the next Beta fixes the lock screen issues (unresponsive, animation glitches, buggy customisation, etc).

CarPlay works fine, but seems slow to connect? All my nav apps are a bit broken, but they likely just need to be updated. Sad they still haven’t fixed the Recently Added skip in Apple Music from 26 though…

Still, Safari runs great, the keyboard is fixed, I love universal spotlight access, and the new Siri works shockingly great; very happy on the whole!

Yeah, battery life is impressively poor on my 17P and Series 10…

Solution : Take a screenshot of your message, print it out, scan it using the Files app on device with official iOS release, and use the Live Text functionality to copy the text. Resend a copy of the message to your contact and ask them to resend it to you. Your messages are now synced! Easy!

Is anyone else having massive problems with content loading?

In particular, FB and IG barely load, with videos often pausing/stuttering. Youtube and other streaming websites often have to be completely reloaded on my Mac.

It’s not my carrier and it’s not my ISP.

Edit: rebooting resolved the issue, at least for now. So it’s clearly these garbage betas.

I’m the exact opposite. Battery life on my Ultra 2 is back within the realm of how good it was on 26, but battery life and performance on my 17PM are criminally bad.
 
Has anyone’s apps lost their icon?

I pay for Nitro and have chosen an alternate app icon. The icon is there in Default and Clear. But Dark and Tinted, it disappears. I’ve tried changing the icon in the app. Other icons will show, just not the one I want to use.

It doesn’t appear to be affecting other apps like Halide or NHL, but I also don’t have those on my homescreen directly.

Not experiencing any of these issues on IG even with Private Relay and NextDNS enabled. Can play videos fine on my 17P. So clearly it’s not a “garbage” beta issue.
 
Ran into an odd one yesterday - Car Play.
The currently playing music info would not appear on my dash unless I connected via BT instead of Car Play. Tested it with Android Auto and it was the same.
Chevy Colorado 2026 - all up to date. I suspect it is the Chevy software as both my Air and Ultra are running their OS betas.

Yep, I've seen home screen icons disappear numerous times - as I've been hard resetting/normal resetting my iP Air in the hopes that Siri AI would work better (setting Reminders/Timers etc sometimes works, sometimes doesn't)

A normal power recycle (hard reset didn't work for me twice!) fixes the issue every time

I’m glad it’s coming back for you. But I took my screenshot after I rebooted to try and fix my internet/media issue.

Are you trying to remove and reinstall or just unload and reload Discord app ?

And for your internet/media issue are you trying disabling " Limit IP address tracking, restart or Airplane mode on/off, try again and enable " Limit IP address tracking " again (available in cellular settings and when you click on the (i) next your Wi-Fi SSID)
 
In Dark Mode (Dev Beta 2), the Apple Watch app is invisible. It still works. It still launches the app, but instead of the app icon there's a blank space.

Yeah my icons disappear every 4/5 days or so too. Hard reset resolves.
