Looks like the delay of improved Siri will be a huge driver for people to actually upgrade to features introduced in ios26.4 & beyond.

It’d have to be amazing before I upgrade.

Staying where I am thanks.

Been hoping since forever that we can choose whatever engine we want to power Siri which should just be the front end anyway. This way we can switch or add functionality as we wish.

Siri will live on Dynamic Island, the AI Archipelago.

Shall we sum up the whole history of Siri in a single phrase?

I found this on the web, check it out.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

In 2029 when this will finally ship. In beta.

Even with a Gemini powered Siri I’m not sure if Apple can pull this off.

Apple failed at LLM transformer models. Which is not the same as failing at AI. In April 2026 (recently) Apple held a presentation of ParaRNN which have significant advantages over transformer LLMs. Especially now that Apple demoed the parallel training of such models is possible. I wouldn't count them out just yet. ParaRNN performs MUCH better at many tasks and can be run locally lot less "expensively", in terms of resources.

Technical terminology means nothing to the average consumer. Apple promised AI and failed to deliver!

Google holds the keys to Apple's future in AI.

True so far, but it’s not the first time Google and Apple have done things together

Apple failed at AI and has to rely on Google to bail them out!

I have nothing against AI as such - but I've never liked Siri, at all, and haven't used that dummy for years.

Hope I can rename it to something else, if so I might give the spp a chance.

I would jump for joy for autocorrect that isn't stone-age stupid or the ability to actually block spam voicemails from unknown numbers. Apple has lost the plot on understanding what customer value looks like on iPhone.

No way! Apple is on the ball!

People want better Memoji's and Genmoji’s.

They also love Liquid Glass - and don’t mind inferior battery life because of all the rendering of translucencies and distortions in nearly every ui interaction.

Also they really want ads in Apple Maps - and more ads in news.

On iPhone/iPad Siri needs to stop listening when you let go of the side button or at least have an option to go back to that classic behavior. 🙉

Can we assume that Siri will continue to be a voice chatbot or will most of this functionality move to typing? The amount of compute power it would take to run Siri voice mode conversationally for all iPhone iPad Mac HomePod, etc. people in the world would be enormous.
