I feel as if ever since we knew iOS 26 was buggy, that iOS27 would fix bugs and ofc support the same iPhone models, safe to say though that it'll be cut with iOS28

iPadOS 27 [20] - A13 Bionic and newer (iPad 9 and newer)
iOS 27 [20] - A14 Bionic and newer (iPhone 12 and newer)

Okay, I was wrong for the iPhone support. That's a surprise.

iPhone 6s - iOS 9 to iOS 15
iPhone SE 2016 - iOS 9 to iOS 15
iPhone 7 - iOS 10 to iOS 15
iPhone 8 - iOS 11 to iOS 16
iPhone X - iOS 11 to iOS 16
iPhone XS - iOS 12 to iOS 18
iPhone 11 Pro - iOS 13 to iOS 27 [20]
iPhone SE 2020 - iOS 13 to iOS 27 [20]

Of course Siri AI will only work on 17+ (that slide was up for about 0.2 seconds).

Translation: We can't be sued (again) because Apple AI runs on 16+, and our newly named Siri AI (aka new Apple AI) needs 17+.

Okay, that was a really unexpected surprise. Those performance improvements will be super welcome on my legendary iPhone 11. It's still running iOS 18.7.8, but think it'll finally be time to upgrade. Thanks, Apple. And thank you to everyone who stayed on iOS 18. We clearly told Apple what we disliked about iOS 26.

looks like ipadOS drops support for the 2018 ipad pro, iPad 8

Looks like it also drops support for 11" iPad Pro (3rd generation) - the first M1 iPad. There's my excuse for an update then...
My mistake, 11" iPad Pro from 2nd gen still supported.

Aha! I misread the page and it was the iPad Air that now starts at 4th gen. So no upgrade required this year (except the battery is getting a little tired after 5 years).

the 2nd gen ipad pro 11” is supported (has the later tag) so im assuming the 3rd gen is also supported.

yeah that got me too lol. Also didn’t help that i read the ipad pro (m4 and later) right after reading that Siri requires 17 pro and later.
