iOS 27's Wi-Fi Settings Include Rebranded 'Connectivity Assist' Feature

It should be able to detect when the WiFi connection is direct to a camera thus no internet and it wouldn’t be disconnecting from the camera automatically even if you press the option to continue using WiFi. It’s super annoying.

It is for most people. I've turned mine back on, and will see how much data it uses. It's a shame it's under Wi-Fi configuration and not mobile/cellular data, as then I could enable it for certain eSIMs only.
I guess it's those who have network stuff configured (such as Pi-hole on their router, or custom DNS/VPN settings) which are suddenly bypassed as the phone switches to the mobile network, that will want this disabled.

Which doesn't help me unfortunately, as I usually buy local eSIMs which have daily data limits.
Plus, the note you found is for "WiFi Assist" and not the new "Connectivity Assist".

Yes, I can se how that’s inconvenient. I brought it up because you said you disabled WiFi assist in the past, and this is essentially a new version of that and I’d expect it to work the same way. But like you said, doesn’t help if you buy a local sim with data limits.

I can tell you this feature interferes with CarPlay. I had to turn it off. New Siri is nice tho.
I wish it had a configuration option to *prefer cellular.* It still stays connected to weak wifi signals when the better choice would be the stronger cellular signal. I still have to manually turn off wifi a lot when I'm outdoors (haven't found a way to automate that, sadly).

when i had this switched on i was getting warning in wifi that my connection was not private and dns was being monitored, switched it off and switched cellular off and rebooted and warning msg went away

you could do network reset this would delete all wifi passwords and you only re enter your home wifi password, switch know networks to ask or notify

I have Ubiquiti equipment in our house, which has network wide ad-blocking as a feature on the firewall settings.
