Good to hear indeed. My wife's iPad 2 has been draining much faster than the original iPad, and with less use since purchased. I hope they fix the issue and it reverts back to the 10+ hours of battery life.

I see (said the blind man)

Ah, so this probably explains why my iPhone 3GS has been draining faster than normal. A couple of mornings I have found my iPhone battery nearly drained overnight, which struck me as odd since the only radio I normally keep on is for EDGE.

Hopefully iOS 4.3.1 will return the battery life back to normal.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Mobile/8F190)

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3 last week and now when using it, it goes from 100% to completely dead WHILE PLUGGED IN AND CHARGING. And no, turning off Ping did not help, and I don't want to restore and manually reinstall hundreds of apps.

I hope so, as I'm seeing noticeably worse battery life on my 3GS since updating to iOS 4.3. As in not being able to get through the day with normal usage. :(

I actually got a battery increase. It used to be that streaming radio from about 8:20 to 9:45 would drain me from 100 to 79% using 3G (our wi-fi policy blocks streaming radio), now on 4.3 it ends at 83%. I'm happy.

I don't usually complain about faults in OS updates because I don't usually notice them, but this one definitely is noticble. I now have to charge up my iPhone every night, when I used to be able to go about two days without charge. I also noticed major slow-down issues when launching apps; instead of it gradually transitioning from the home screen, it now stutters on launch.

A minor inconvenience, but still annoying nonetheless.

4.3 was in beta status for so long that one would have thought this issue would have been seen and fixed before shipping.

Can you please move on and post such nonsense on some other forum?

I fail to understand why you're still not banned for all your idiotic posts and irrational hatred towards Apple and some people on this forum.

I'm still using 4.1, downgraded from 4.2.1. The 4.1 jailbreak seems to be the best jailbreak in the iOS 4 era, and I get fairly good battery life. After 4.0 came out I was seriously considering downgrading back to iOS 3 because my battery life was about 25% of what it was before. I'm glad I found that turning airplane mode on increased my battery life by quite a bit.

wow so i wasn't just imagining things

i have noticed my battery doesn't last as long as it used to........ it never even crossed my mind but yes this seems to have started after updating to 4.3!

glad it's not just me after all.....

One day last week, my battery started to drop about 10% per hour, even though it was asleep. I'd never seen that happen before. I rebooted and the problem went away.

I haven't read much about any one having shorter battery life because I haven't been reading much on here but I have definitely having shorter life.

I can't get a full day from about 11 am [take off wall charger] to about 7-8 pm before I get a very low battery percentage. I monitor it today as I reset my usage just to see what kind of life I get but it's definitely not what it used to be.

Oh, I and read the information about turning off PING recommendations, but I don't have any of those enabled in the settings as they are ALL turned off.

Same here, I've given up hope on my 3GS, I'm hoping the iPhone 5 (or whatever they call it) will have 2x the battery life...

Same here - My battery can drop by 25% JUST on my hour commute to work!
and all im doing is listening to music and browsing either this site or mashable!

macrumors should stop posting those BGR rumors. they are not rumors because they make them up them self. i mean its like me saying that apple will stop using their own hardware and license OS X, totally irrelevant.

Always within the first 5-10 posts; on every other thread saying something completely ridiculous. It's almost funny.

Hopefully his parents will take away his internet access soon.

I think 4 year olds should be monitored and protected closely. Internet access is dangerous at that age:)

I usually never have problems with iOS software updates, but 4.3 very, very noticeably raped my battery life. I went from being able to go a whole day of casual use and still having 30%+ at night to needing to charge by 5pm under the same usage load.

Turning off ping helped, but it's still not where it used to be.

What was the problem again with WP7 on Samsung hardware again? Was that bricking the devices or just dieing in mid update?

On the comparative snark-o-meter (TM), I think "somewhat reduced battery life until the next point release" is a little less critical than "my WP7 phone won't update and now Microsoft removed the update so now what do I do?". ;)

FAIL. Try being the example of sensitivity and insight you rebuke him for not being. Sorry, but Fullofwin is totally entitled to his opinions, as are you. Nobody should be banned for unpopular opinions. No way.
