nano editor

You need your Mac OS account password, not your iTunes one. This is the account password you enter when new apps need authentication to install (the ones that don't just install by dragging and dropping in the Applications folder).
When you are asked for your password on terminal, you enter that.
You won't see any characters or stars, just type it and press Return and you should be able to move to the next step...
I had forgotten a SPACE when entering the command... Duh!
Anyway I entered the # character at the start of the gs.apple.com line but did not see any action when pressing CONTROL+X to exit. Normal?

nano editor take 2

 I should say I get prompted to save the changes when pressing CONTROL+X. I accept the changes but then if if I quit Terminal and come back, It just happen the changes were not saved.

i think the instructions mention doing a CTRL-O first, then Return and then CTRL-X to close the file/quit the editor

bricked iphone 3gs with unknown ios plz pelp

hello anyone who botherd to read this

i am in need of serious help
i am on iphone 3gs
issues i face are :
1. i have no idea what ios i have installed on my i device
2. ipad base band 06.15.00
3. 4.3.3 8j2 before bricked state

first of all i modded the "fstab" file to overcolck the iphone and when i rebooted it it gave me the official recovery logo. so without realising what i was doing i hit restore in itunes and got a 3194 error so i run a snowbreeze 2.7 and created a custom ipsw with the ipad bb option selected knowing i can restore to stock firmware. but during restore i got 3194 again

so i decided to just restore to stock 4.3.5 and i got 1015 so i rage quit

i tried with i reb r4 didnt work , tried redsnow 0.9.8 b4 but dont know if that works on a bricked idevice

soooooooo lpz help it would be greatly apreciated
if it cant be fixxed im gona take it in to the apple shop
