I did though, I opened TU and i unchecked the cydia host part and did a restore and at the end it gave me error 1601

this is what the log in TU said

01/12/2012 05:56:44.578 Loaded History... 01/12/2012 05:56:53.062 Cannot Start TSS Service DO NOT TRY RESTORING YOUR DEVICE!!! Your hosts file is not writable! 01/12/2012 05:56:53.062 You are using the current version of TinyUmbrella.

I have no clue how to restore this damn thing i think im stuck with a currupt jailbroken phone

Sounds more like you're computer is corrupt if anything. Try using another computer ... and restore your computer while you're at it ;)

Restore it on another computer.

oh that will work? I was unware because all my music and stuff is on this computer.. maybe anti spyware apps are not allowing it? I'm not sure what the problem could be

I'm about to try again with another apple USB cord that I have in my car, maybe something in mine is defective? Could be a possibility where it gets bent while charging or something.

Yes, it will work.
You can just restore it on any computer and then sync it and set it up on yours.
Maybe antispyware or antivirus/firewall software dont allow communication with apples servers during the restore.
Give it a shot.
Good luck.

Ah thanks man, wow i feel like a dumbass now hah. I swear I thought that since I originally set up my phone on with this comp that it was the parent so to speak lol

Hey guys just wanted to check in because I told you I'd let you all know how the restore went and I finally was able to restore it to factory however I used a back up and the preloading screen problem still exists and also I still have trouble sending pictures via iMessage and it's still not working.

I've now completely restored the phone to factory without a back up and I'm still having this problem, though the phone itself seems a little faster at loading because its not bogged down with any data.

I'd like to jailbreak the phone again and this time I'd be extra careful with what I'm installing because I will know it could possible damage or slow down the iOS i'm running on which is 5.0.1 however I had a problem with facetime and it wouldn't allow me to answer the caller calling me. It would allow me to dial out a facetime call but when it was incoming I could answer and have no video. Just a frozen screen that says answer or reject facetime call and I couldn't see the other person only myself. I'm wondering if its just a problem with 5.0.1 or what? Anyone know? Because facetime is rather imporant to me.

Sorry it took me so long to update I was without a phone for like 2 days then had to work and such so I've been busy.

springboard

I have jail broken my iphone 4 5.1.1 and everything was fine until i lock my phone and tried to slide to unlock it and now it will not let me slide to unlock and keeps rebooting! Anyone know why?
