When switching the mute switch back to on, the hud with the bell also shows the volume boxes.

Can anyone confirm if mail supports different signatures per account? Apple hasn't mentioned anything so far, so I am afraid that we are still stuck with one signature. Thanks.

Sponsored links in Google Maps. I searched Banana Republic today and it was a sponsored link with extra info.

I think I once saw that in iOS 4

No, still one signature.

I've noticed the VoiceControl voice is a little different (better).

You can swipe the widgets in the status bar, and get a forecast by swiping the weather widget.

On lock screen, you can slide the logo of the notification to open the app.
I think both of the new options you mentioned are pretty useful but I like the latter option the best. The ability (when looking at notifications on the lock screen) to quickly swipe the individual notification you want to see/reply to, is a nice touch. These are pretty underrated niceties.

Oh I've never seen this before. That's curious. I thought it was new. I've honestly never seen it before.

Would you mind showing me that happening on 4.3.x?

I also used to get quite a few sponsored links in Google Maps (Pre- OS5). It probably just depends on what area you are searching in and Google is probably slowly adding in more sponsored links as time goes by.

I just tried this and it worked great BUT.... I think it bypassed my lock screen. I swipped the notification and it took me to the app. I then hit the home button and went to the home screen. Is this a glitch in the beta or had not enough time passed for my lock screen to activate ?

Well, I think the view is that swiping a notification is roughly akin to swiping to get past your lock screen so I don't see the issue there.

Do you mean that the notification swipe actually bypassed your lock screen when your phone's passcode lock is on? If that occurred it would be pretty awful. I just tried it and fortunately the phone still requires you to input your passcode before it will allow the notification swipe to take you past the lock screen (when your phone is locked with a passcode).

I don't think this was in there before ... if it was I'll edit this post:

Items now flagged for follow-up in Exchange display a flag next to the mail item.

'Select All' in email

I haven't read where any one has mentioned this here but I was hoping for a Select All option under the EDIT screen in email. (I've seen it within a threaded email). Has anyone else needed this feature? I would use it daily if I had it - I keep my inbox pretty clean and when my work emails are pushed to my personal account I would like to be able to select-all instead of tapping on each email to select and move/delete.

actually apple showed the phone being able to to pinch to zoom in camera mode, you are wrong about that one.

actually i'm right, he specifically said Cropping, not pinch to zoom. they're 2 different functions, both of which were mentioned in the Keynote.

Is newsstand not suppose to be working ?

nope, doubt it will be working until official release.

I've noticed the VoiceControl voice is a little different (better).

mine's now got a male voice talking back as opposed to female! that surprised me the other morning!!

nope, no select all yet.

Changes in App Store: in the updates section you can see all the apps you have downloaded or just the ones not on that device. Same for ibooks, music, videos, etc.

This is already available in iOS4, it's not an iOS5 specific feature.

They can more than likely control the intensity of the LED so it's not blinking like a lighthouse. :D

Haha I kind of like how bright it is actually ...

this is pretty lame. why not the app itself shows updated temp without having to launch it.
At least at the moment it does with the pulldown menu.

This sounds pretty cool for a quick reference, but it sucks that here in Australia Yahoo weather (where Apple gets their weather.app info from) is always a few degrees off.
Yeah it's off frequently here too in the states, not by too much but enough that it's irritating.

Yeah I haven't been able to find it
I hope that's not permanent.

Has anyone else noticed the vibrate alert when sending emails?
Yeah it through me off at first but I like it now, esp if I have the phone on silent.

The fact you can now set the maximum messages downloaded through email to 1000 instead of 250 is a nice addition for moi :D
This is awesome!

i can pinch and zoom in the camera mode. i am on a 4
yeah but the guy that initially posted on it said he couldn't that was all I was saying.

And numerical signal strength is from field test mode I enabled ages ago. I don't think it's open anymore. It's stayed in my updates.

I will try to find a sponsored link I can't remember what I had searched for when I saw the sponsored link though
